In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology will reserve up to 90% of its enrollment quota for the admission method combining multiple criteria.

In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) will enroll 5,150 students according to 5 admission methods.

Method 1 is direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Ho Chi Minh City National University with 1-5% of total enrollment quota.

Method 2 is priority admission according to regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University, applied to 10-15% of total enrollment quota.

Method 3 is to consider candidates with international admission certificates or foreign candidates (only applicable to advanced English-taught programs), with 1-5% of total enrollment quota.

Method 4 is to select candidates planning to study abroad in international transfer programs (Australia, New Zealand), 1-5% of total enrollment quota.

Method 5 is a combination of admission criteria including: competency assessment test results, high school graduation exam results, high school grades, other competencies (certificates, awards), applied to 60-90% of total enrollment quota.

The representative of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology noted that candidates applying for the English-taught, advanced, international transfer programs (Australia/New Zealand) must meet the English requirement of IELTS ≥ 4.5 or equivalent. If not, candidates need to take the DET test and achieve 65 points or higher. When admitted to the English-taught, advanced, international transfer programs (Australia/New Zealand), candidates need an IELTS certificate ≥ 6.0/ TOEFL iBT ≥ 79/ TOEIC listening - reading ≥ 730 & speaking - writing ≥ 280 to study the main program. If not, candidates will be placed in an English class in the Pre-English semester to meet the standards.

In addition, candidates with IELTS certificate ≥ 5.0/ TOEFL iBT ≥ 46/ TOEIC listening - reading ≥ 460 and speaking - writing ≥ 200 will be converted to the corresponding score of English subject in the admission subject group A01, B08, D01, D07.

Last year, the admission score for the combined admission method of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology was the highest at 79.84 points for the Computer Science major (standard program). This score was calculated based on the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University/Hanoi National University's competency assessment exam (weighted at 75%), the high school graduation exam results (weighted at 20%), the high school learning process results (weighted at 5%) and other personal achievements including: academic awards, achievements in social activities, literature, sports and arts.
