Some people are famous in the community like artist Trinh Kim Chi. There are also ordinary people in everyday life - like Mrs. Sau (Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ngang, born in 1936, living in Quarter 3, Tan An Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province) with a cheap bread basket on her shoulder for decades as a friend to the poor.

“From a small bread stand, she spread humanity, leaving behind valuable lessons about kindness and a beautiful lifestyle in everyday life,” said Dr. Vu Manh Ha, director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum.

Artist Trinh Kim Chi was honored for her contributions to art and social work.

According to the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, as a director, actress and manager, Trinh Kim Chi has contributed many valuable works of art, honoring the tradition of patriotism and revolution. At the same time, she actively participates in training young artists, passing on her profession and developing traditional Southern theater arts.

As head of the Artists' Association, Trinh Kim Chi has taken good care of artists in difficult circumstances, maintained activities to honor the profession, such as the theater's death anniversary ceremony, and taken care of the Ho Chi Minh City Artists' Nursing Home.

Mr. Hoang Van Diep - head of Nu village, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province - is always dedicated and responsible for his work, listens to people's opinions and proposes solutions to his superiors.

Especially during the flash flood on September 10, 2024, he proactively evacuated households in dangerous areas before the flood hit.

When the whole village was buried, power and communication were lost, he immediately reported to the authorities to mobilize rescue.

Mr. Diep directly coordinated search and rescue, organized the evacuation of the elderly and children to safety, assisted authorities in identifying victims and taking care of funeral arrangements.

At the same time, he guided organizations and individuals to Nu village to support the right people, the right objects, and encouraged people to overcome the loss.

With his great contributions, on October 7, 2024, he was awarded a certificate of merit by the Prime Minister.

Many other examples at the exhibition also made viewers admire, such as Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan in Ha Nam - a devoted young doctor who has saved the lives of thousands of critically ill patients.

Or Lieutenant Nguyen Viet Quan bravely saved 4 people in a fire in Quynh Loi, Hanoi in 2024.

The slogan "good people, good deeds" comes from the name of the book series "Uncle Ho's Instructions"

The exhibition also displays the book series Good People, Good Deeds, first published in 1968 under the direction of President Ho Chi Minh.

Around mid-1968, President Ho Chi Minh requested that the articles be collected, further verified and edited, and then published into books for everyone to study and follow.

The book series had a strong influence during that period and was considered a great source of spiritual encouragement. “Good people, good deeds” became a widespread emulation slogan in all areas of people’s lives.

The exhibition also displays a number of Uncle Ho badges awarded by individuals and donated to the Ho Chi Minh Museum.

At the end of 1959, President Ho Chi Minh proposed and was approved by the Politburo and the Central Executive Committee of the Party to award a badge called "Uncle Ho badge" to those who performed well.

Uncle Ho said: “Everyone can see the outstanding and resounding feats and achievements. Small and ordinary things that benefit the country and the people are often overlooked.”

So every time he read the newspaper or listened to the radio and saw examples of good people or good deeds, Uncle Ho often marked them, requested verification, and awarded badges to those examples of good people.

According to documents summarizing the patriotic emulation movement nationwide, from 1959 to 1969, there were about 5,000 good people and good deeds who were awarded badges named after Uncle Ho.

The exhibition runs until the end of August.
