On April 2, information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that the Hanoi People's Committee has issued instructions on enrollment for grade 6 at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted from the 2024-2025 school year.
Accordingly, the enrollment of grade 6 students at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted from the 2024-2025 school year will be carried out in accordance with the requirements in Official Dispatch No. 801/BGDĐT - GDTrH dated February 28, 2024 of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The document clearly states that, according to the provisions of Circular No. 05/2023/TT-BGDDT promulgating the regulations on the organization and operation of specialized high schools, specialized classes are only organized in specialized high schools. Non-specialized classes that have been enrolled and organized in specialized high schools will continue to be implemented according to regulations until the end of grade 12, while enrollment in non-specialized classes of specialized high schools prescribed in Circular No. 06/2012/TT-BGDDT and Circular No. 12/2014/TT-BGDDT will be implemented until the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
Thus, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted will officially stop enrolling 6th grade students from the 2024-2025 school year.
The secondary school system of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted has been maintained for nearly 30 years. According to the assessment of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the secondary school system of the school has successfully completed its mission as the main source for specialized high school classes to achieve excellent results in national and international competitions for excellent students.
Maintaining the junior high school system in Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted has also met the needs and aspirations of parents in the city to study in a high-qualityeducational environment and nurture talents. Every year, the enrollment quota for grade 6 is about 200 students, but about 3,000 primary school students register for the exam.
Information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training also said that in the near future, the Department will continue to research to advise and propose to the City People's Committee a suitable plan to ensure compliance with current regulations, as well as the requirements for training high-quality human resources, while meeting the learning aspirations of students in the capital.
