Mr. Nguyen Thai Phong, Principal of Vo Thi Sau Primary School (Hai Chau Ward, Da Nang City), said that the school has just sent an open letter to parents, partners and sister units, asking permission not to accept flowers and gifts on the occasion of November 20 this year.
In the letter, the school stated that this year’s November 20th coincides with the time when many families and schools in the Central region are making efforts to overcome the consequences of natural disasters. Many students still lack books and learning materials when they return to school, so the school hopes to devote attention and resources to support them in a timely manner.
“As educators , we cannot help but feel anxious when our colleagues still have many difficulties returning to normal life, when students everywhere still have difficulty going to school,” excerpt from the open letter.

The open letter moved many parents.
In that spirit, the teachers and staff of Vo Thi Sau Primary School agreed not to accept flowers or gifts on the occasion of November 20.
The school expressed its hope that parents would turn their gratitude into practical gifts for teachers, students and families affected by storms and floods in the Central region, through official channels.
The gifts that parents sent to the flood-affected areas were the "most beautiful flowers of gratitude" and also the most meaningful gifts for teachers this year.
Previously, at the end of October, Vo Thi Sau Primary School opened its gates for people to park their cars and motorbikes to avoid flooding caused by Storm Fangshen (Storm No. 12). The school also arranged 10 classrooms as storm and flood shelters for local people.
