Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Phan The Tuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province; representatives from the Bac Ninh Department of Education and Training, various agencies and units, along with many generations of staff, teachers, and students of the school.
Lang Giang No. 1 High School was established in 1965 under the name Lang Giang Secondary School in Quyet Tien village, Xuong Lam commune (now Lang Giang commune). In 1973, the school was officially relocated to Ao Luong village, Yen My commune, Lang Giang district, Bac Giang province. In 2004, the school was renamed Lang Giang No. 1 High School.
Over the past 60 years, generations of teachers at the school have dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to the cause of education . Among them, one teacher was honored as a member of the 11th National Assembly; six teachers were awarded the title of "Outstanding Teacher"; and many teachers have achieved the title of "Excellent Teacher" at the provincial level or higher. Generations of students who have studied and grown up under the roof of this school have made many important contributions to the development of their homeland and country.
From the initial five makeshift classrooms with thatched roofs and mud walls of Lang Giang High School, Lang Giang No. 1 High School now boasts spacious and modern facilities. With 42 classes and nearly 1,900 students per academic year, the school has a teaching staff of 102 teachers and employees. The school has ample classrooms, functional rooms, a library, a multi-purpose hall, etc., meeting the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program and providing a friendly and happy learning environment for teachers and students to be creative and develop.
In recent years, thanks to the solid professional expertise of its experienced teaching staff, the quality of education has been sustainably maintained and has seen strong development. The percentage of students achieving good or excellent grades is over 99%; the percentage of students with good or excellent academic results has steadily increased each year, currently exceeding 80%, consistently ranking among the top 5 schools in terms of both the number and quality of awards in provincial-level academic competitions. The annual high school graduation rate is 100%, and the university admission rate is over 80%. Students from the school actively participate in provincial-level competitions and intellectual contests such as: Youth and Children's Creativity, Science and Technology, Entrepreneurship, "Road to Olympia," and English public speaking, and have proudly won many high awards. The school's educational activities consistently rank among the top high schools in the province.
For many consecutive years, the school has been recognized as an Outstanding Labor Collective; the Party Committee, Trade Union, and Youth Union have consistently performed their duties excellently. Over the past 60 years, the school has been honored with numerous prestigious awards: the Third-Class Labor Medal, the Second-Class Labor Medal, the Government's Emulation Flag, the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit, the Ministry of Education and Training's Certificate of Merit, the Provincial People's Committee's Emulation Flag, Certificates of Merit from central and provincial organizations; exemplary advanced unit at the sectoral level for the period 2015-2020, exemplary advanced unit at the provincial level for the period 2020-2025…
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Phan The Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee, congratulated and praised the efforts of generations of staff, teachers, and students of the school throughout its development. Over the years, Lang Giang No. 1 High School has achieved many impressive accomplishments, affirming its position as one of the leading schools in the education sector of the former Bac Giang province – now Bac Ninh province. The school was the first high school in Bac Giang province to achieve National Standard status before the merger; it was awarded the Second and Third Class Labor Orders by the President of Vietnam, along with numerous certificates of merit and emulation flags from the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Provincial People's Committee.
Mr. Phan The Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee, urged the school to continuously innovate and improve the quality of comprehensive education, considering this a central and ongoing task. He emphasized the need to further promote teaching and learning that fosters creative thinking, self-learning abilities, and practical skills, as well as the application of digital transformation for students. He also stressed the importance of foreign language and computer science education to help students confidently integrate and become global citizens in the future.
Particular attention should be paid to the education of ethics, life ideals, life skills, and fostering pride in cultural traditions among students. It is essential to excel in both teaching academics and character, helping students develop harmoniously in intellect, physical abilities, and personality. Emphasis should be placed on building a strong and comprehensive team of teachers and educational administrators. Each teacher must truly be a shining example of ethics, self-learning, and creativity, inspiring and igniting a passion for learning in their students.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province expressed his wish that the Bac Ninh Education sector would continue to uphold its traditions, achievements, and results; overcome difficulties; lead and direct the entire sector to successfully implement the tasks of the 2025-2026 school year; proactively advise the Party Committee and the government to continue investing in facilities and create the most favorable conditions for Lang Giang No. 1 High School to develop, deserving to be a happy, high-quality, and modern school of Bac Ninh province.
On this occasion, Lang Giang No. 1 High School was awarded a Certificate of Commendation by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province for its outstanding achievements in education and training. Many collectives and individuals were also commended by the Minister of Education and Training and the Director of the Department of Education and Training.
