The 12th Corps Command organized an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the heroic martyrs of the Truong Son Army at the Ho Chi Minh Trail Museum.

Also attending were comrades from the 12th Corps Command, former heads of the 12th Corps Command, commanders of agencies and units of the Corps, representatives of local authorities and relatives of Major General Phan Quang Tiep and Colonel Nguyen Duc Phuong.

Reporting on the achievements of the two comrades, Colonel Nguyen The Luc, Party Secretary, Deputy Commander of the 12th Army Corps, stated: Major General Phan Quang Tiep, born on January 5, 1926 in Quang Ngai ; participated in the September 1945 revolution. He was the former Regiment Commander of the 98th Regiment, Command 559, and former Commander of the 12th Army Corps. In every position, he achieved outstanding feats: He was the commander who opened the first Truong Son mechanized road; opened the C4 express road, an extremely important route connecting the Central Highlands with Siem Pang (Cambodia); commanded the anti-sabotage of enemy bridges and roads, and launched the movement to use infantry guns to shoot down enemy planes...

Colonel Nguyen Duc Phuong was born on October 10, 1924 in Hanoi; he joined the revolution in late 1943. He was the former Commander of Group 763 (K20), former Deputy Commander of Regional Division 470, Truong Son Command. During the resistance war against the US to save the country, comrade Nguyen Duc Phuong was assigned a very special and dangerous mission, under the cover of a capitalist, a "big boss", operating behind enemy lines for a long time, successfully completing the assigned mission of purchasing and transporting food, gasoline and oil in the enemy's rear areas of Laos, Cambodia and Thailand to supply the revolution in the South until the day of complete liberation. That demonstrated his bravery, intelligence, creativity and cleverness.

In recognition of the outstanding achievements of Major General Phan Quang Tiep and Colonel Nguyen Duc Phuong, on January 23, 2025, the President signed a decision to posthumously award the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the two comrades.

On this occasion, the 12th Corps Command organized a meeting to celebrate the 66th anniversary of the opening of the Ho Chi Minh Trail - the traditional day of Truong Son Troops.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Huu Ngoc, Commander of the 12th Corps, emphasized that after 66 years of fighting, building and growing, promoting the tradition of the heroic Truong Son Army, following the example of the uncles, sisters and brothers, especially the People's Armed Forces Heroes and Labor Heroes in the renovation period, the 12th Corps has made breakthrough and strong developments in terms of scale, force organization, functions and tasks, and achieved many outstanding achievements in the tasks of building and developing the economy, military and national defense.

Currently, Corps 12 is positioned as a leading enterprise in the country's basic construction sector, a key unit in constructing many national key projects and works in all fields, from airports, ports, road traffic, irrigation, and hydropower. The projects implemented by Corps 12 ensure progress and quality, and are highly appreciated by the Government, ministries, departments, branches, and localities.
