Posthumously promoted to Major for officer Nguyen Dang Khai

On behalf of the Management Board of the People's Public Security Comradeship Fund, the Minister and Chairman of the Management Board of the Fund also signed a decision to support 100 million VND for comrade Khai's family.

Currently, the Ministry of Public Security has also completed the dossier, proposing the President to posthumously award the First Class Military Exploit Order; proposing the Ministry of Home Affairs to submit to the Prime Minister for consideration of recognizing a martyr and granting the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate to comrade Nguyen Dang Khai.

Authorized by the Central Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Youth Union Nguyen The Minh performed the ceremony of posthumously awarding the "Brave Youth" Badge to comrade Nguyen Dang Khai.

In recognition of the heroic sacrifice of comrade Nguyen Dang Khai, the Central Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union also decided to posthumously award the "Brave Youth" badge.

Being a pioneer, not afraid of danger, comrade Nguyen Dang Khai passed away at a very young age, carrying with him many dreams and ambitions. He bravely carried out his duties, ready to sacrifice himself to protect the lives and property of the people, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the area. His courageous actions are a testament to the mettle, spirit and noble ideals of the Youth Union members and young people of the People's Public Security in the new era.

Posthumously awarded the "Brave Youth" badge to comrade Nguyen Dang Khai.

Previously, through the fight against the inter-provincial drug trafficking and transportation ring, at about 8:20 p.m. on April 17, 2025, in the area near Dragon Castel apartment building (in group 10, zone 10, Bai Chay ward, Ha Long city), the working group of the Provincial Police led by the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department discovered and arrested 2 subjects, seizing 16 heroin cakes.

During the pursuit, the police force was attacked by subjects using military weapons. Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Dang Khai, 29 years old, of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Quang Ninh Provincial Police) was shot and died.

On the night of April 17, Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee and Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security were present to direct the plan to capture the remaining fugitives; at the same time, visit and encourage the families of officers who sacrificed and were injured while on duty, and direct the rapid implementation of policies and regimes for officers and soldiers.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ninh Province is continuing to expand the investigation and arrest the remaining subject. In particular, the Investigation Police Agency of Quang Ninh Province has issued a wanted notice for Bui Dinh Khanh (born in 1994; residing at Group 6, Zone 1, Gieng Day Ward, Ha Long City), the subject in the case of illegal drug trafficking in the province.
