Accordingly, at 8:30 a.m. on June 4, the Phu Yen Provincial Department of Health received information that 7 patients were being treated for food poisoning at the Dong Hoa Town Medical Center. Immediately afterwards, the Phu Yen Provincial Department of Health issued Decision No. 376/QD-SYT dated June 4, 2025, establishing an Inspection Team to inspect compliance with legal regulations on food safety and hygiene at the relevant facility, Pho Dem Vuon Restaurant - Branch III of Pho Dem Phu Yen Company Limited, and at the same time coordinated with Tuy Hoa City Medical Center and Ward 7 People's Committee to monitor and investigate the cause.

The inspection results show that Pho Dem Vuon Restaurant - Branch III was granted a certificate of food hygiene and safety by the Phu Yen Provincial Department of Health on May 13, 2025; the facility complied with the provisions of the law on food safety such as: storing samples, verification numbers, and conducting three steps...
Along with coordinating with the authorities to trace the origin of food and investigate the cause of food poisoning, the Inspection Team of the Phu Yen Provincial Department of Health requested the Pho Dem Vuon Restaurant - Branch III of Pho Dem Phu Yen Company Limited to temporarily suspend operations until the shortcomings and limitations are overcome.
Previously, on the morning of June 3, Dong Hoa Town Medical Center received 7 patients who were hospitalized with symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps. According to the patients, on the evening of June 2, they went to Pho Dem Vuon Restaurant - Branch III, Hung Vuong Street, Ward 7, Tuy Hoa City to eat a snail buffet with each ticket priced at 140,000 VND as advertised on Tik Tok. After returning home that night, those who ate the snail buffet at the above restaurant all suffered from diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps. Due to not being able to bear it anymore, the 7 patients were hospitalized at Dong Hoa Town Medical Center for emergency treatment on the morning of June 3.
According to Dong Hoa Town Medical Center, all 7 patients were diagnosed with food poisoning and were prescribed IV fluids and antibiotics. Their health has stabilized, but they still have to continue inpatient treatment for another day before they can be discharged.
The incident is still awaiting the results of food origin extraction and monitoring and investigation of the cause.
