Consulting on selection to perform city-level science and technology tasks: Lap Le Fisheries

With the goal of effectively exploiting the potential of aquaculture and enhancing the brand value of local products, on the morning of October 31, the Department of Science and Technology (KH&CN) of Hai Phong city organized a meeting of the Advisory Council to select and implement the city-level S&T task "Supporting the management, exploitation and development of the collective brand "Lap Le Seafood" for seafood products of Lap Le ward, Thuy Nguyen city, Hai Phong city".

Nam Khanh Consulting, Trading and Service Company Limited registered to host the task. The conference was chaired by Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology Pham Huy Thang.

According to information from the Farmers' Association of Lap Le Ward (now Nam Trieu Ward), the locality currently has about 317 hectares of aquaculture with nearly 400 households participating in production, of which 220 hectares are brackish water aquaculture and 97 hectares are freshwater aquaculture. In the area, there are currently 03 cooperatives operating stably and effectively, attracting hundreds of members to participate in the development of aquaculture, making an important contribution to the restructuring of the local agricultural economy .

At the Conference, the representative of Nam Khanh Consulting, Trading and Service Company Limited presented the task explanation, including the main contents: Organizing a workshop to deploy the task; assessing the current production and business situation; building a dossier to amend and supplement the application for collective trademark protection "Lap Le Seafood"; building tools to promote and exploit the trademark; operating the management and use of the collective trademark; monitoring, evaluating and summarizing the task.

The Council members focused on exchanging, discussing and contributing many ideas to complete the content of the task. The Council requested the research team to clarify the protected products, add value and development potential of the products, clearly identify the beneficiaries, and clarify the difficulties and challenges in the implementation process. In addition, the Council also suggested editing the task name, collective trademark logo and adding experts in related fields to ensure the feasibility and effectiveness of the task.

After receiving, editing and completing according to the consensus opinions of the Council, the task description document will be sent to the Department of Science and Technology for review, synthesis, and submission to the City People's Committee for consideration and approval for implementation according to regulations./.
