On the morning of October 30 local time in Gyeongju city, within the framework of attending the 32nd Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Week and bilateral work in Korea, President Luong Cuong received Ms. Ly Loi, founder of MEBO International Group of China.

At the reception, President Luong Cuong highly appreciated the success of MEBO Group globally, especially in the fields of regenerative medicine and health care; and welcomed the MEBO Group's expansion of investment in Vietnam, contributing to strengthening the pharmaceutical supply chain and people's health care.

The President said that Vietnam is currently promoting economic restructuring, renewing the growth model, diversifying economic sectors, and taking science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as the main driving forces for development in the new era.

Expressing her pleasure at receiving the President, Ms. Ly Loi said that MEBO International is a transnational biotechnology corporation, specializing in research, development, production and marketing of plant-based pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, cosmetics and health care foods.

The group is headquartered in China and the United States with operations spanning 80 countries worldwide.

Starting from the field of burn treatment, MEBO International has now developed into a multi-industry, multi-field corporation, focusing on promoting the value of traditional Chinese medicine, combined with modern scientific achievements to serve the care and protection of human health.

Regarding operations in Vietnam, Ms. Ly Loi said that MEBO International is currently cooperating with VCP Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company to implement phase 1 of an investment project in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector.

In the coming time, MEBO International is considering implementing new investment projects in Vietnam in three fields: pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and healthcare.

The founder of MEBO Group expressed his wish to receive the attention and support of the Vietnamese government to soon have an official presence, expand investment cooperation and actively contribute to the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam.

Acknowledging the opinion of the Vice President of MEBO Group, the President affirmed that Vietnam always creates favorable conditions for foreign enterprises, including MEBO Group, on the basis of strictly complying with Vietnamese regulations and laws, to confidently invest and do business effectively, sustainably and long-term in Vietnam.

On the basis of the good traditional friendship between Vietnam and China, including in the fields of medicine and pharmacy, the President hopes that the investment and cooperation activities with Vietnam of MEBO Group will contribute to further strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two neighboring countries.

Also this morning, President Luong Cuong received Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) John Denton on the occasion of attending the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Week.

At the reception, expressing his honor to meet President Luong Cuong, ICC Secretary General John Denton expressed his admiration for Vietnam's economic development journey as well as the goals and solutions that Vietnam has set in its development journey.

Congratulating the Vietnamese Government for taking many practical steps to care about business activities, especially the establishment of international financial centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, creating conditions for businesses to develop, ICC Secretary General John Denton affirmed his readiness to cooperate and help Vietnam on the path of development, especially participating in the process of supporting Vietnamese businesses to reach out to the world in the context of Vietnam being the host country of APEC in 2027.

Secretary General John Denton said that ICC is present in 170 countries and has mobilized more than 17,500 billion USD in investment and business capital and will continue to promote the development process, including global development projects for businesses and hopes to have the active participation of Vietnamese businesses.

The project has been introduced and implemented by ICC in ASEAN and expanded to APEC. It will soon be brought to the Group of 20 leading developed and emerging economies in the world. We hope that in that journey, there will be coordination and cooperation from Vietnamese enterprises.

Secretary General John Denton emphasized that ICC always wishes to be a friend and partner accompanying the development of Vietnamese enterprises; participating in APEC activities in 2027 hosted by Vietnam.

Appreciating the Secretary General's comments and expressing satisfaction with the relationship between ICC and the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), President Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to the cooperative relationship with ICC - the largest global business organization.

The President also highly appreciated the role of ICC in building international trade standards, liberalizing trade and investment, and strengthening the multilateral trade system; and was pleased to know that ICC has maintained close cooperation with VCCI and the Vietnamese business community in supporting the improvement of the business environment, promoting trade facilitation, and enhancing integration capacity for small and medium-sized enterprises.

President Luong Cuong said that in the face of current global trade challenges, Vietnam is implementing many adaptive solutions such as: Diversifying markets, developing supporting industries, making the most of new-generation free trade agreements; Reforming institutions, simplifying administrative procedures, improving the investment and business environment; Promoting digital transformation - green transformation to increase the resilience of the economy.

In that process, the President asked ICC to continue to accompany and support Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises to improve their integration capacity and participate more deeply in the global value chain, through sharing ICC's tools, standards and practical experience.

Welcoming the ICC's desire to turn its determination and goodwill into reality, President Luong Cuong emphasized that Vietnam is ready to be an active and proactive partner with the ICC in regional and global initiatives, contributing to promoting an open, fair, and sustainable international trade system for peace, prosperity, and opportunities for all.

President Luong Cuong receives Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin

Continuing activities within the framework of the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Week and bilateral work in the Republic of Korea, President Luong Cuong received Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong Bin.

Pleased to see that the Vietnam-Korea relationship is developing well in many fields, especially after nearly 3 years since the two countries upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the President highly appreciated and congratulated the investment and business activities of Lotte Group in Vietnam, one of the successful investment models in Vietnam, especially in the fields of real estate, entertainment and food processing.

The President affirmed that Vietnam always creates favorable conditions for foreign enterprises, including Korean enterprises and Lotte Group, to confidently invest long-term in Vietnam; at the same time, he asked the Group to continue expanding investment and consider Vietnam as a strategic market, taking advantage of the new generation FTA agreements that Vietnam has signed.

Along with that, the President said that in the process of implementing projects in Vietnam, the Group needs to pay attention to environmental protection, promote links with domestic enterprises, use raw materials that Vietnam can produce, ensure social security for workers, and at the same time create conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to participate in the value chain.

Honored to receive the President, the Chairman of Lotte Group expressed his gratitude for the attention and support of the Vietnamese Government for Lotte's operations in recent times.

Mr. Shin Dong Bin said Lotte is one of the first Korean corporations to invest in Vietnam, operating in many fields such as trade, services, food, retail and real estate.

In Vietnam, Lotte has built a system of modern shopping centers and many large-scale projects, notably the Lotte Mall West Lake complex in Hanoi.

Lotte Group Chairman emphasized that the group is holding an important position in its global development strategy with plans to invest more than 23,000 billion Won around the world, in which Vietnam continues to be identified as a key market.

He affirmed that in the coming time, Lotte will continue to expand investment and diversify business activities in Vietnam, while always focusing on fulfilling social responsibilities, actively contributing to the sustainable development of the local community.

Sharing and agreeing with Mr. Shin Dong Bin's opinions, the President affirmed that Vietnam highly appreciates Lotte's social responsibility activities; hoping that the Group can share its experience in organizing social responsibility activities, thereby inspiring and further promoting social activities for the business community in general in Vietnam.

Regarding Lotte's proposals and recommendations, the President said he would assign relevant authorities to discuss and resolve existing problems, thereby helping Lotte continue to operate stably and long-term in the Vietnamese market for the benefit of both sides.
