The year 2025 marks the 21-year journey of loyalty and affection of Ho Chi Minh City youth in Laos. Promoting that tradition, this year's campaign is prepared with a new mindset, demonstrating a step forward in scale, depth and high specialization.
The activities took place from June 10 to June 28, with the participation of 103 volunteers who are union members, youth, students, civil servants, and young doctors.
This year's summer volunteer campaign in Laos marked a breakthrough. Along with continuing training on agriculture , animal husbandry, and pedagogy, new topics were also implemented such as: exploiting local tourism and especially in Champasak province, training will be organized, providing knowledge on artificial intelligence tools for daily work application.
At the same time, continue to concretize the content of the cooperation memorandum between the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union with the Champasak Provincial Youth Union and the Attapeu Provincial Youth Union, enhance the effectiveness of coordination in organizing international volunteer activities, contributing to the good traditional relationship between the two countries.
The total resources mobilized for constructions and items up to now have reached nearly 4 billion VND. Some activities and projects include: offering incense and flowers to commemorate the previous leaders and heroic martyrs; organizing 11 playgrounds for children; painting classrooms, organizing Vietnamese language classes, training Vietnamese language textbooks; providing free medical examinations and medicine to 5,000 people... In addition, 5 Vietnam - Laos friendship houses were also donated, more than 800 social security gifts along with thousands of white notebooks, school supplies, and solar lamps.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Ngo Minh Hai, Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, asked the soldiers to take care of their health and strive to complete their tasks well. At the same time, he tried to spread the image of friendly and enthusiastic Vietnamese people to international friends. Through that, he aimed to contribute to fostering the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnamese and Lao youth union members and youth.
Soldier Le Thi Thu Huong, Ly Tu Trong College, Ho Chi Minh City, shared that with all the pride, courage, spirit of integration and responsibility of the youth of the city named after Uncle Ho, she will strive to promote the highest spirit of solidarity. Thu Huong will also participate in completing the assigned tasks well, contributing to spreading the image and good traditions of the youth of the two countries, fostering the increasingly strong friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
