The National Committee on Youth of Vietnam and the Central Youth Union have just announced the recruitment of 10 Vietnamese volunteers to participate in the ASEAN Youth Volunteer Project for the period 2023 - 2024, operating in ASEAN countries for 22 days.
Each delegate participates in activities in an ASEAN country.
Within the framework of ASEAN youth cooperation, the National Committee on Youth of Vietnam and the Central Youth Union recruited 10 volunteers to participate in the ASEAN Youth Volunteer Project for the period 2023 - 2024.
According to the organizers, the ASEAN Youth Volunteer Project was approved by the ASEAN Secretariat at the ASEAN Youth Ministerial Meeting, held in July 2019.
During the 2023 - 2024 phase of the project, ASEAN member countries will coordinate to organize 10 youth volunteer groups, each group consisting of 10 youth volunteers from 10 ASEAN countries (one delegate from each country).
Each delegation will participate in volunteer activities in an ASEAN country for 22 days with activities organized by the host country.
In Vietnam, the program is expected to take place in November - December, in a northern mountainous province.
Vietnamese youth volunteers participate in international volunteering in Laos
The project is organized to increase youth participation in volunteer activities at home and in the region; implement the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Master Plan 2025 and the ASEAN Youth Action Plan for the 2016-2020 and 2021-2025 periods.
The project also aims to contribute to building the Southeast Asian region, which is heavily affected by disasters, natural disasters, and climate change, into a self-reliant region capable of responding to natural disaster risks.
The organizers said that the volunteer criteria are young people of Vietnamese nationality, aged 18-30; able to communicate and write fluently in English; ensure health conditions, have received 3 doses of Covid-19 vaccine and commit to participating in all 22 days of direct volunteering and all online training activities.
Experienced or interested in the following areas: climate change response and environmental protection,education and training, health and social welfare support, climate change adaptation and mitigation, community development, social enterprise.
Volunteers must commit to comply with the rules and regulations of the program, locality and organizing committee; have a passport valid for at least 6 months; priority is given to young people who are Youth Union and Association officials, have made positive contributions to the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement, and volunteer work in Vietnam.
