At the ceremony, Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Ngoc Son reported on the results of training excellent students and organizing national exams to select excellent high school students, excellent middle school and high school students in the province.

Accordingly, in recent years, to improve the quality of teaching and learning, the whole sector has focused on directing the improvement of the quality of mass education, reducing the rate of students with poor academic performance and nurturing excellent students; identifying the discovery and nurturing of excellent students as one of the extremely important and also difficult and challenging tasks, the result of a process of discovery, selection, training, and nurturing regularly and continuously on the basis of a solid comprehensive education.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the Department has directed the organization of competitions to select excellent students at junior high and high schools from the grassroots to the provincial level; organized the establishment of teams to participate in the national high school competition according to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training. As a result, in the 2024-2025 school year, the provincial competition to select excellent students at junior high schools had 489 students participating and 284 students winning prizes; the provincial competition to select excellent students at senior high schools had 714 students participating and 418 students winning prizes.

Under the guidance of teachers, students selected for the team have constantly innovated their learning methods, enhanced self-study, regularly updated their knowledge, and thought creatively, so they have made a lot of progress in their learning process. From 2021 to now, Bac Kan province has 65 national excellent student awards, exceeding the target set by Resolution No. 15-NQ/TU dated August 12, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee (the target for the period 2021 - 2025 is to achieve 25 national awards in cultural subjects).

To encourage and motivate the achievements of students and teachers, every year, the Department of Education and Training has submitted to the Provincial People's Committee a Decision on awarding Certificates of Merit to students with achievements in the national excellent student selection exam and teachers whose students won prizes in the national excellent student selection exam. The Department has also issued a Decision on rewarding students who won prizes in provincial-level secondary and high school excellent student selection exams.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Thu Trang acknowledged and commended the high school students who won national prizes and first prizes in the provincial-level excellent student competitions for the 2024-2025 school year. Among the students who won high prizes in the competitions present at today's ceremony, there were students who were children of ethnic minorities living in remote areas; many of them had difficult family circumstances, but with their studious spirit, will, determination and high determination, they overcame their circumstances, achieved excellent results, and became shining examples in their studies. These achievements make important contributions to the achievements of the Education and Training sector in particular and the socio-economic development achievements of the province in general.

In the coming time, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Education and Training of Bac Kan to continue promoting the achieved results; focus on building and improving the quality of the teaching staff and educational management staff to ensure sufficient quantity, synchronous structure, meeting standards in training level and career transition...

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee honored and awarded 25 high school students who won the National Prize and 29 students who won the First Prize in the provincial-level excellent student competition for middle and high school students, along with 33 teachers who participated in training students who won the National Prize in the 2024-2025 school year. On this occasion, many agencies, units, and businesses also presented meaningful gifts to students who won high prizes./.
