Heavy rain in Tuyen Quang causes damage to houses, flooding and landslides

NDO - On the night of May 17 and the morning of May 18, Tuyen Quang province experienced moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. In particular, Na Hang and Lam Binh districts experienced heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall measured from 30-175mm. Heavy rain caused flooding in Na Hang town, Na Hang district, affecting housing, agricultural production and people's lives.

According to a quick report from the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Tuyen Quang province, heavy rain and thunderstorms damaged 23 houses in Na Hang district, causing flooding and landslides.

Heavy rains also damaged more than 1 hectare of rice and corn in Na Hang district, many areas of crops were washed away and buried, and many roads were eroded. Currently, the work of calculating the damage is still being reviewed.

The bus station in Na Hang town, Na Hang district, Tuyen Quang province was flooded.

Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, the People's Committee of Na Hang district directed and assigned officials in charge to go to the grassroots to grasp the situation and direct communes and towns to count the damage, guide people to overcome the consequences and ensure stable life and production.

Heavy rain also caused flooding on many roads in Na Hang district, Tuyen Quang province.

The Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Tuyen Quang province requested districts and cities in the province to direct the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns to strengthen the dissemination of forecast and warning information on natural disaster prevention and control to people, minimizing damage that may be caused by natural disasters.
