This morning (June 2), more than 11,800 9th grade students in Da Nang City officially entered the 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools for the 2025-2026 school year. This year's exam takes place over 3 days, from June 2 to 4, with 3 compulsory subjects including math, literature and foreign language.
Nervous but determined
At the examination site of Phan Chau Trinh High School, one of the "hot spots" due to the large number of registered candidates and high academic standards, all candidates were present early in the morning. There was excitement and anxiety, but also filled with expectations and dreams of themselves and their families.

Although his mother and sister "accompanied" him for more than 10 km to the exam site at Phan Chau Trinh High School, Nguyen Quang Huy (a student at Nguyen Luong Bang Secondary School, Lien Chieu District) seemed quite nervous before entering the exam room. Although he is a literature major and has participated in many district and city-level excellent student competitions, Huy said he still felt very nervous before the 10th grade entrance exam because of the high level of competition and the pressure from his desire to pass a good school.
"I have taken many exams before, but this exam is different because this is the first important milestone in my learning journey. My dream is to enter Phan Chau Trinh High School. I hope that I and my friends can maintain a good spirit to do well on the test," Huy said.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Uyen, sister of contestant Nguyen Quang Huy, shared: "My house is quite far from the exam site, so the whole family got up at 5am to prepare to take Huy to the exam. I even personally made sticky rice with beans for him to eat for good luck. I just hope Huy can stay strong and do well on the exam."
Ms. Uyen said that throughout the past school year, her family has always tried to create the best conditions for her to study, not putting pressure on her but only encouraging her to determine her own future goals.
"As a student at the University of Foreign Languages - University of Danang, I accompanied Huy, studying day and night in the foreign language exam. Now all efforts and hard work will be shown through the exam. I hope that the candidates and Huy will keep their spirits up and be confident to do well on the exam," said Phuong Uyen.

"Write" parents' dreams on exam paper
After the candidates entered the exam room, outside the school fence, there were still eyes watching. Many parents silently accompanied their children throughout their journey. For many candidates, when they take the exam, they are "writing" the dreams of the whole family on the exam paper.
Quynh Anh (a student at Tay Son Secondary School, Hai Chau District) confided that setting the goal of entering Phan Chau Trinh High School did not start at the beginning of grade 9, but was formed since grade 7.
"I think this is not only my dream, but also my parents' dream. For a long time, my parents have wanted me to study at a good school, with good friends and a dynamic learning environment like Phan Chau Trinh High School," Quynh Anh said.

To realize that dream, Quynh Anh said she studied continuously during the last months of the school year. In addition to regular school hours, Quynh Anh also attended extracurricular exam preparation classes and solved exam questions continuously to master both basic and advanced knowledge.
"Not only do we have to memorize, we also practice applying knowledge and solving situations, because this is a new requirement of the 2018 GeneralEducation Program," Quynh Anh shared.
This year is the first year that 9th graders take the 10th grade exam under the new general education program, which not only requires students to grasp theoretical knowledge but also develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills and personal qualities.
At exactly 8:00 a.m. this morning (June 2), more than 11,800 candidates in Da Nang City took the literature exam with a time limit of 120 minutes.
