For public high schools, the whole city recruits 65-70% of students who have graduated from junior high school in districts. Private high schools; vocational education - continuing education centers in districts; junior colleges and colleges, based on the actual conditions of the unit, recruit students who have not passed the entrance exam to grade 10 of public high schools or students who have not participated in the entrance exam.
Students who have graduated from secondary schools in Can Tho City can register for a maximum of 5 choices. Students who have graduated from secondary schools outside the area can only register for a maximum of 2 choices: Ly Tu Trong High School for the Gifted and Can Tho University's Pedagogical Practice High School. Both of these groups of students can apply for admission to grade 10 at private high schools and vocational education and continuing education centers in districts and towns.
The exam format is 3 subjects: Math (120 minutes), Literature (120 minutes), Foreign Language (60 minutes, English or French). The exam is expected to take place over 2 days, June 5-6.
The entrance exam for grade 10 at Ly Tu Trong High School for the Gifted will only accept applications from candidates who have graduated from junior high school with a good grade or higher (for junior high schools in the area) and with a good grade (for junior high schools outside the area). At the same time, candidates can only register to take the exam in one of the following specialized classes: math, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, literature, history, geography, English, French. The specialized subject exam will last 150 minutes and is scheduled to take place on June 7.
