Ms. Doan Thi Kieu Oanh, Chief Inspector of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, said that the unit has just set up inspection teams to prepare facilities and ensure security and safety at 201 exam sites.

The inspection team requested that the testing sites clean and sanitize classrooms, check the electrical lines, fans, and light bulbs to ensure enough light for candidates to take the exam. Testing sites with exam rooms adjacent to residential homes must close the doors and cover the windows to prevent outsiders from filming or taking photos inside. Testing sites with residential homes must require residents to sign a commitment to move out of the testing site during the exam days. Schools that are under construction or repair during the exam days must also stop all activities so that candidates can take the exam.

Mr. Can Van Da, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Hai Ba Trung District (Hanoi) informed that up to now, the examination sites have completed the preparation of facilities. Each examination site is supported by the district's electricity with a generator, ensuring that it will operate in case of power outage. The district has also established an examination steering committee, inspected all schools organizing the examination, and clearly assigned tasks to relevant departments to organize the examination safely and in accordance with the principles.

Preventing exam cheating

Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, said that Hanoi requires the organization of the exam to ensure safety, seriousness, and convenience for candidates. The Department has mobilized more than 16,000 officials and teachers to participate in organizing the exam; the city mobilized more than 1,000 police officers to participate in ensuring security and safety for the exam. Forces such as fire prevention and fighting, youth volunteers, electricity... also contributed to ensuring the exam took place safely.

Before the exam took place, Hanoi organized training for all school principals, heads and deputy heads of examination sites to note new points, things to do, and avoid mistakes. One of the contents that the leaders of the Department of Education and Training required the heads of examination sites to do was that, in any situation, they absolutely must not affect the rights of candidates.

Mr. Cuong requested that the staff and teachers participating in organizing and supervising the exam not be subjective and have solutions to deal with unusual situations that may occur. There are staff who think subjectively and take the exam every year, however, each year, different students will have different situations. Therefore, from teachers to students taking the exam, they must study the regulations seriously to understand the regulations. When situations arise, they must be handled in accordance with the regulations. "In difficult cases and situations that exceed their authority, the invigilators must absolutely not handle them on their own, but through supervision, report to the head of the exam site for advice. In cases where the head of the exam site finds it difficult, they must call and ask for advice from the Exam Steering Committee," said Mr. Cuong.

Candidates are allowed to bring into the examination room: pens; rulers; pencils; erasers; squares; graphing rulers; drawing tools; calculators without text editing functions and without memory cards. Bringing prohibited items such as: phones, information transmitting and receiving devices... will result in suspension from the examination.

In a large-scale exam with nearly 104,000 candidates registered, organizing a safe exam and protecting exam papers is a step that the leaders of the Hanoieducation sector especially emphasize. Especially, in the context of the widespread use of AI technology as it is today, providing information for a few seconds to get the answer is very dangerous. Therefore, the director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires exam sites to prepare an area to store candidates' belongings and personal belongings away from the exam room. When candidates ask for permission to go to the toilet, invigilators must pay special attention.

Secondary schools are required to remind students to carefully study the exam regulations, understand the items allowed in the exam room, and the prohibited items. Read the exam notice carefully to go to the correct location, avoid going to the wrong location, eat and sleep on time, and stay healthy to do the best on the exam.

At the exam sites, youth volunteers will distribute water, umbrellas, and fans to candidates and their families. Police will assist in traffic control and ensure security and safety for the exam.
