Propagating the law and giving life jackets to fishermen

On November 14, Waterway Police Team No. 1, Traffic Police Department, Tay Ninh Provincial Police coordinated with Tan Hoa Commune Police to organize propaganda and dissemination of laws on inland waterway traffic and gave 20 life jackets to fishermen in Tan Hoa Commune.

At the propaganda session, Traffic Police officers disseminated the Law on Inland Waterway Traffic, the Law on Fisheries, Directives of the Prime Minister and relevant legal regulations on the prohibition of using prohibited fishing gear, explosives, electric shocks, toxic substances to exploit aquatic resources, management of exploitation and protection of aquatic resources, and work to ensure safety in aquatic activities.

Owners of inland waterway vehicles, operators, crew members and fishermen in Tan Hoa commune also heard propaganda about the operating methods of illegal fishing subjects and the plots of criminals on inland waterways,... thereby contributing to raising awareness of law enforcement; proactively preventing, fighting and protecting aquatic resources for the province.

The authorities also emphasized the importance of accident prevention and rescue on inland waterways; provided instructions on how to use life jackets and life-saving equipment when participating in waterway traffic; highlighted the important role of drowning prevention during the rainy and stormy season; and provided instructions on first aid when detecting drowning people.
