Flight QV311 carrying the Vietnamese team landed at Noi Bai airport ( Hanoi ) at 4:30 p.m. on November 20, about 40 minutes late compared to the original schedule (3:50 p.m.).
At the airport, the Vietnamese team disbanded, officially ending the last training session in 2025. The players left by private cars or were picked up by relatives, quickly joining their home clubs to prepare for the National Cup matches taking place this weekend.
Meanwhile, head coach Kim Sang Sik was taken to the official residence at the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) to rest. He will soon move to Vung Tau to take over the U22 Vietnam team to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games in the next few days.
U22 Vietnam has just finished playing the friendly tournament CFA Team Panda Cup 2025, returned home from camp on November 19 so that some players can play in the National Cup. The team will regroup from November 23 in Vung Tau to prepare for the last and most important training session of the year, towards the 33rd SEA Games.
Mr. Kim Sang Sik has just ended the 2025 journey with the Vietnamese team with a 2-0 victory on the field of Laos. This victory helps the team maintain the opportunity to compete for a ticket to the final round of the Asian Cup 2027.
2025 was also a year of many ups and downs for coach Kim Sang Sik's Vietnam team, when the team won the 2024 ASEAN Cup championship in Thailand, then started the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup with a resounding victory over Laos, before losing 0-4 to Malaysia on their opponent's field.
In September, the Vietnamese team gathered but did not play any international matches, which led to a drop in the FIFA rankings. In October, the team struggled to win both matches against Nepal to regain their ranking, before closing out 2025 with a victory over Laos. This also marked the return of the excellent naturalized striker Nguyen Xuan Son.
After 4 more months, the Vietnamese team will gather again to prepare for the revenge match against Malaysia in the final qualifying round of the Asian Cup.
