Cai Lay Town: Focus on creating resources and developing the Party among students

Detecting, nurturing, and recruiting high school students to the Party is a political task aimed at building a successor force rich in knowledge and courage, contributing significantly to supplementing the successor force and resources for the Party. Recognizing the above importance, the Standing Committee of Cai Lay Town Party Committee, Tien Giang Province has recently implemented the Project to Detect, nurture, train sources, and develop Party members among high school students in the town (referred to as the Project).

ENHANCE THE "YOUNG POWER" OF THE PARTY

Over the years, the work of developing party members has always been focused on by the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Party committees at all levels, and Party organizations, with leadership, direction, and drastic implementation through many practical solutions and achieved important results.

In the period of 2021 - 2023, the entire Town Party Committee has admitted 308 new Party members (achieving 102.67% of the target of the Resolution of the 2nd Town Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025), the quality of admitted Party members has increasingly improved, newly admitted Party members have promoted their pioneering and exemplary roles, strictly implemented the Party's policies, guidelines, resolutions and directives, have a sense of learning to improve their qualifications and working capacity and successfully completed assigned tasks, contributing to improving the leadership capacity, fighting strength and ensuring the inheritance and development of the Party.

However, the work of developing party members is still not comprehensive, especially the recruitment of party members among students still faces many difficulties. Party committees at all levels have not paid due attention, have not had solutions, plans for propaganda, education, creating sources and developing party members among students.

In some places, school leaders and Youth Union organizations in schools mainly focus on professional work and movement activities, and have not yet promoted their roles and responsibilities in creating sources of Party membership for students.

The work of propagating and educating the Party's revolutionary ideals to students has not really gone into depth. The awareness of the responsibility of the Youth Union organizations in training, discovering, nurturing, and introducing to the Party outstanding student members for consideration and admission to the Party is not high. The majority of students focus on studying, and have not yet determined the right motivation to cultivate, train, and strive to join the Party.

Cai Lay Town identifies the development of new Party members and the building and nurturing of a reserve source for the Party from student union members as an important task in Party building, aiming to strengthen the "youth" of the Party, create a source of successor cadres, ensure a continuous and steady transition between generations of cadres and Party members, contribute to improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation; at the same time, strengthen the education of revolutionary ideals, moral qualities, and cultural lifestyle for the young generation, in accordance with the requirements of the Party and the movement trends of society in the current period.

CREATE HIGH CONSISTENCE OF PERCEPTION AND ACTION

Currently, the town Party Committee has 3 high school party cells (including: Doc Binh Kieu High School Party Cell, Tu Kiet High School Party Cell, Le Van Pham High School Party Cell) with 85 party members. Every year, the town has about 4,410 students studying at high schools in the area (of which, about 1,410 are grade 12 students).

The project sets the target and strives for the period 2024 - 2025, each high school Party cell admits at least 1 student to the Party, registers to send at least 10 students to attend the Party Awareness Training class; the period 2026 - 2030, each year, each high school Party cell admits at least 1 student to the Party, registers to send at least 10 students to attend the Party Awareness Training class.

Comrade Nguyen Van Khinh, Party Cell Secretary and Principal of Le Van Pham High School, said that to achieve the above goal, the school's Party Cell will focus on propaganda, implementation, and dissemination of the Project in the Party Cell through regular monthly meetings and in the entire school's Pedagogical Council through the Conference of civil servants and public employees at the beginning of the year.

In particular, through the Parents' Conference at the beginning of the school year, the school will deploy the Project to all parents of the school and to students through the Citizenship Week at the beginning of the school year. Thereby, making cadres, party members, parents and students clearly understand the viewpoints and goals of the Project.

Every year, Le Van Pham High School has about 350 - 400 students admitted to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. Through the activities of the Youth Union movement, academic performance, and conduct training; through exams and competitions, excellent members are selected to introduce to the Party Cell to be assigned to be Party members to guide and foster awareness of the Party, with summer activities for outstanding members.

Nguyen Phu Thien (class 11A1, Doc Binh Kieu High School) shared that becoming a party member has been his dream since childhood. When he heard about developing party members among students, Thien was very excited and clearly defined his goals to strive for and practice hard.

The Youth Union activities and movements initiated by the school have helped Thien gain many experiences, develop his capacity, be active, sociable and foster his will and ambition. Thien feels more mature, confident, active and enthusiastic. That is also the joy that Thien has on the path of striving to become a party member.

In the Project, after party members are admitted to university, the town will study the mechanism for coordinating and evaluating the quality of party members, their learning results, training, party cell activities, etc., thereby rewarding and encouraging them on the occasion of the anniversary of Cai Lay Town's founding, the founding day of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and annual meetings to celebrate the Party and celebrate Spring. In particular, it is proposed to have a reserve number of positions to recruit talented people to serve the sectors that the town needs to develop the economy and society, etc.

Comrade Phan Phung Phu, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of Cai Lay Town Party Committee, said that the effective implementation of the Project will contribute to building high school Party cells in particular and the town Party Committee in general to become increasingly clean and strong. Cai Lay Town will focus on discovering talents, nurturing and training young human resources who are good, knowledgeable; flexible and skillful in behavior; training ethics, standard lifestyle; steadfast stance and character... orienting training according to the needs of the locality and society, contributing to the development of Cai Lay Town.

If this Project is successful, it will be a new model of Party activities for students. For this Project to be effectively implemented, Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, agencies, departments, branches, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations of the town must develop appropriate programs and plans to implement the Project; at the same time, propagate and thoroughly and widely disseminate the content of the Project, creating high consensus and unity in awareness and action throughout the Party and people.

Besides, it is necessary to spread information and propaganda in the activities of the neighborhood and hamlet Party cells and Party cells about this Project to see its novelty; at the same time, pay attention, monitor, urge and have an impact on the 3 high school Party cells.
