Cai Lay Town: Improving the effectiveness of anti-corruption and negativity work

(ABO) On August 22, the People's Committee of Cai Lay Town ( Tien Giang Province) organized two seminars on "improving the effectiveness of anti-corruption work in agencies and units" in 2023 in Cai Lay Town.

The thematic workshop aims to strongly innovate the method of propaganda, dissemination and legaleducation , continue to raise awareness, sense of compliance, study and research on the law on corruption prevention and control and integrity ethics to gradually move towards the goal of "not wanting, not being able, not daring, not needing to be corrupt". At the same time, enhance the role and responsibility of cadres, civil servants, public employees and people in the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity.

The workshop listened to discussions focusing on 5 contents, such as: Propaganda, dissemination and education of laws on preventing and combating corruption and negativity; implementation of solutions to prevent corruption and negativity; implementation of solutions to detect corruption and negativity; rights and obligations of people in preventing and combating corruption; reception and implementation of accountability of agencies, units and individuals for their decisions and actions in performing assigned tasks and public duties.

After the seminar, Mr. Tran Van Thuc, Chairman of Cai Lay Town People's Committee, requested 65/65 units under the Town People's Committee (including: 11 professional agencies, 5 public service units, 33 schools, 16 commune-level units) to implement grassroots democracy, publicity and transparency in the activities of agencies and organizations; regularly inspect and promptly handle "harassment", negativity, and petty corruption, especially in matters related to people and businesses.

In addition, carry out internal self-inspection according to Article 56 of the 2018 Law on Anti-Corruption. At the same time, inspect the performance of public duties of officials and civil servants assigned to sensitive fields, such as: Land administration, construction and environment; Accounting; Justice; officials and civil servants who regularly contact people and businesses...

Comrade Tran Van Thuc suggested that heads of agencies, units, and Chairmen of People's Committees of communes and wards continue to strengthen their roles and responsibilities in organizing and implementing preventive measures to prevent violations. In addition, promptly detect and strictly handle negative phenomena. Communes and wards must pay attention to leading and operating units to successfully complete two emulation topics on citizen reception, complaint and denunciation settlement, and anti-corruption work.
