The Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and town leaders visited policy families
Currently, the town has 3,716 meritorious people who have been recognized, honored, and received subsidies and incentives. Among them are 968 martyrs, 226 war invalids, 53 sick soldiers and 91 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers. Caring for families with meritorious services and providing practical support to people with meritorious services to the revolution have become "bright spots" in the town's development process in recent times. In 2024 alone, the town organized visits and presented gifts (on the occasion of Lunar New Year and War Invalids and Martyrs Day) to 300 typical policy families, totaling 150 million VND; regularly provided subsidies to 7,200 policy beneficiaries, totaling over 13.8 billion VND; organized to send 31 meritorious people to nursing centers in Hanoi , Da Nang, Ninh Binh, Binh Dinh, Con Dao, Nha Trang, etc.
“Caring for policy families does not stop at properly and adequately implementing the prescribed regime, but we also expand it with many practical and sustainable support programs. We always identify this as a regular political task, the responsibility and affection of the entire political system towards those who have sacrificed and contributed to the country” - Ms. Huynh Thi Tuyet Trinh (Deputy Head of the Town's Internal Affairs Department) shared.
From housing support programs for people with meritorious services, the town has basically eliminated degraded housing for policy families. In 2024, the locality supported the construction of 46 houses of gratitude, of which 31 were repaired and 15 were newly built. The total cost is 1.8 billion VND, from the central budget. “For the past decades, I have lived in an old corrugated iron roof house. Now that the Party and the State have built a new house, I am very happy. The house is a place to shelter from the rain and sun, a warm home to foster happiness. The support to build a solid and spacious house has helped my family stabilize their lives, giving me more motivation to move forward in life” - Mr. Phan Thanh Lam (policy family) expressed.
Town leaders visit policy families in Tan Thanh commune
Chairman of Tan Chau Town People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Lam said that in order to effectively care for people with meritorious services, the town will review, compile records, and update data; ensure that all policies and regimes are implemented promptly, on time, publicly, and transparently. Tan Chau is setting a goal of striving for 100% of policy households and people with meritorious services to have a standard of living equal to or higher than the average standard of living of the community.
“Showing gratitude to those who have contributed is a moral, a sacred sentiment, and a responsibility of the whole society. In the new development stage, Tan Chau will continue to promote the tradition of "remembering the source of water when drinking", improve the quality of service to the people, especially families with meritorious services, contributing to realizing the goal of a rich people, a strong country, fairness, democracy, and civilization" - Secretary of Tan Chau City Party Committee Nguyen Van Cop emphasized.
Efforts to care for policy families are not only a tribute to the past, but also a foundation toeducate the current young generation about responsibility, gratitude, and aspiration to contribute to the Fatherland in the future.
