Entering the match, U16 Vietnam was at a disadvantage when midfielder Van Duong was injured in the 8th minute and had to leave the field, making way for Quang Hung. Despite having to adjust the personnel early, coach Cristiano Roland's students still played with great effort under pressure from the opponent. However, in the 23rd minute, U16 Saudi Arabia unexpectedly opened the score after seizing an opportunity from a mistake in the defense of U16 Vietnam.

Undaunted, U16 Vietnam quickly stabilized their formation and proactively pushed up their formation to find an equalizer. In the 29th minute, after a coordinated attack on the right wing, Sy Bach quickly escaped and crossed the ball accurately for Quang Khoi to jump high and head the ball to equalize 1-1 for U16 Vietnam.

In the second half, the red team continued to show discipline and solidity in defense, while taking advantage of sharp counterattacks. In the 55th minute, U16 Saudi Arabia was awarded a penalty after a foul in the penalty area. However, luck was on the side of U16 Vietnam when the opposing player missed the shot.

The remaining minutes witnessed the efforts of U16 Saudi Arabia to attack, but U16 Vietnam still kept their composure and took advantage of the opportunity. In the 83rd minute, Chu Ngoc Nguyen Luc had a technical dribble that forced the opposing defender to commit a foul outside the penalty area. It was this player wearing the number 10 shirt who took the free kick and scored, sealing a 2-1 victory for U16 Vietnam.

If U16 Australia wins U16 China 1-0 or with a difference of 2 goals or more, U16 Vietnam will win the second place overall based on the additional index. In case U16 Australia wins 2-1, the ranking between U16 Vietnam and U16 China will be based on the fair-play index. If Australia wins 3-2 or more, U16 China will hold the second place in the group.
