Meanwhile, Thailand is in group C with Myanmar and Timor Leste, while host Indonesia is in group A with Malaysia, the Philippines and Brunei.

U23 Vietnam is the defending champion of the tournament, having won the title twice in a row in 2022 and 2023. The goal of Viktor Le and his teammates in this tournament is to defend the number 1 position in the region.

The 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship is divided into 3 groups, 2 groups of 3 teams and 1 group of 4 teams, taking place from July 15-31 in Indonesia. The 3 group winners and 1 second-placed team with the best results will qualify for the semi-finals.
