Provincial People's Committee launches Action Month for Children 2023

(HBĐT) - On the evening of May 27, at the Provincial Cultural Palace, the Provincial People's Committee held the Launching Ceremony of the Month of Action for Children (TE) 2023 with the theme "Joining hands to minimize harm to children". Attending were comrade Nguyen Van Toan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the provincial child protection program; leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, departments, branches, unions, localities in the province, representatives of ChildFund, World Vision, agencies, units, enterprises in the province and 200 typical children from districts and cities.

Comrade Nguyen Van Toan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Child Protection Program launched the Month of Action for Children 2023.

The province currently has more than 231,000 children under 16 years old, of which nearly 3,000 children are in especially difficult circumstances and 54,000 children are at risk of falling into special circumstances. In recent years, our province has always paid attention to the work of protecting, caring for andeducating children by promptly issuing and implementing many policies, strategies and practical activities, achieving many important results. However, the work of protecting and caring for children in the province is also facing many difficulties and challenges.

The 2023 Action Month for Children with the theme "Joining hands to reduce harm to children" is being implemented throughout the province with the motto: Every child has the right to live and develop in a safe, healthy, friendly environment and to be protected from abuse and discrimination. The best interests of children must be put first in the process of making decisions related to the socio-economic development of the country, community and family. Investing in child protection is investing in social security, human development, and sustainable development of the country.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of the Action Month for Children in Hoa Binh province in 2023, comrade Nguyen Van Toan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the provincial child protection program, requested the Departments, branches, sectors, organizations and localities in the province to focus on: Promoting propaganda and mobilizing people to implement the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on protecting, caring for and educating children, especially deploying and implementing the Law on Children; organizing many seminars and forums to listen to the voices of children, answering and taking timely actions; reviewing and grasping data on children to ensure that 100% of children enjoy social security policies; continuing to mobilize and support the Provincial Child Protection Fund in 2023.

At the Launching Ceremony, more than 30 agencies, units and enterprises participated in supporting the Provincial Children's Support Fund with a total amount of over 1 billion VND.

On this occasion, 5 groups and 9 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in protecting and caring for children in the 2021-2022 period. The Provincial Children's Support Fund and the Provincial Education Promotion Fund presented gifts and scholarships to 80 children in difficult circumstances who have achieved outstanding academic results (including 30 children in special circumstances who are being cared for at the Provincial Social Work Center and the Provincial Children's Support Fund). 34 children in especially difficult circumstances were given bicycles sponsored by the Vietnam Children's Support Fund, Bao Viet Life, and the Provincial Children's Support Fund.


5 collectives and 9 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in child protection and care in the 2021-2022 period.


Agencies, units and businesses support the Provincial Children's Support Fund.


34 children in especially difficult circumstances were given bicycles sponsored by the Vietnam Children's Support Fund, Bao Viet Life, and the Provincial Children's Support Fund.


Students with difficult circumstances who have achieved outstanding academic results will receive gifts and scholarships from the Provincial Children's Support Fund and the Provincial Education Promotion Fund.
