Serious traffic jam after closing Nguyen Van Linh intersection

TPO - After more than 1 month of temporarily closing the Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection (District 7) to build an underpass, the areas around this intersection often experience serious traffic jams.

After the Nguyen Huu Tho - Nguyen Van Linh intersection (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) was temporarily closed to build an underpass project, traffic in the surrounding area was often congested and jammed during rush hour.

According to Tien Phong, from around 5:00 p.m. on March 25, the areas around the Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection were in a serious traffic jam from all directions.

Since February 7, the Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection has been completely barricaded, temporarily stopping traffic through this area to construct closed tunnel segments.

This has caused more serious traffic jams in some sections of Nguyen Van Linh Street. From the road surface to the sidewalks of Nguyen Van Linh Street, everything is packed with vehicles.

This congestion is mainly concentrated in the flow of cars and containers on Nguyen Van Linh Street (from the toll station to the intersection) and on Nguyen Huu Tho Street (from Nha Be District to District 7).

After the intersection was temporarily closed, a temporary lane was opened for cars and trucks to turn around at Nguyen Phan Chanh Street - Nguyen Van Linh Street.

In addition to adjusting the route and temporary turning points for vehicles, related units including the investor, contractor and Ho Chi Minh City traffic police have actively informed people about the new route and regulated traffic to make it easier for people to travel while waiting for the construction of this intersection to be completed.

Fencing is mandatory and must be implemented to complete the project. However, fencing an intersection with a very high traffic density like Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho will certainly affect people's travel.

The Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho tunnel project is invested by the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board. The project started in April 2020 with a total investment of more than VND 830 billion.
