Arousing people's awareness of crime prevention and control

The "Detecting, denouncing, and capturing criminals" club in Dau Giong A and Dau Giong B hamlets was established with 12 members whose task is to coordinate with the Commune Police to organize propaganda and mobilize the masses to actively denounce and capture criminals; educate and reform violators, creating conditions for them to reform; support the Commune Police to patrol and ensure security and order in the area; and reconcile conflicts among the masses.

When incidents related to security and order occur in the area, people immediately raise the alarm, quickly mobilize support forces and the masses to capture criminals. Thanks to effective deployment and implementation, it has contributed to curbing and reducing the crime situation and law violations.

Every month, the Club organizes meetings with the participation of local authorities, commune police and security forces at the grassroots level, to propagate methods and tricks of all types of criminals, helping people to improve their awareness.

Mr. Thach Thom (residing in Dau Giong B hamlet) said: “Previously, petty theft, dog theft and electrocution of aquatic products occurred frequently. Since the club was established, security and order have been stable. When petty theft and dog theft are discovered, people report and call for support to capture the subjects and hand them over to the commune police for handling. I think this club is very good and needs to be expanded further.”

From the beginning of 2025 to now, the Steering Committee has organized 25 propaganda sessions with over 960 participants; participated in the mediation of 4 internal conflicts among the people; coordinated the education of 12 cases of children showing signs of violating the law in the locality; coordinated with the Commune Police to patrol and disperse 4 locations with 25 gambling subjects; coordinated the arrest of 3 cases of subjects using electric shock to catch aquatic products.

Ms. Ngo Thi Ngoc Tuyen, Secretary of the Party Cell of Dau Giong A Hamlet, said: "The Club has been very effective. The Executive Committee regularly exchanges information on security and order, methods and tricks of various crimes and social evils so that members of the Self-Management Group and the Security and Order Group at the grassroots level can grasp and coordinate with the Commune Police to provide information, organize the timely detection and arrest of law violators."

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Minh Tri, Deputy Head of Chau Thanh Commune Police, said: “The establishment of the club has raised people's awareness in detecting, denouncing, and capturing criminals. The Club's Board of Directors has coordinated with local authorities to consolidate, improve, and improve the quality of activities, and promote propaganda to launch a movement for the entire population to participate in protecting national security. People have provided valuable information to help the police force promptly detect and arrest many violators, contributing to ensuring security and order in the area.”

For many years, the Club has been awarded a certificate of merit by the Provincial Police Director and recently by the Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee for its outstanding achievements in the movement of the entire people to protect national security. With the consensus and support of the people, the Club will certainly be effective in the coming time, and the work of ensuring security and order in the area will continue to be maintained and stabilized.
