More than 1.12 million customers have had power restored after Typhoon Kalmaegi

(Chinhphu.vn) - By 7:00 a.m. on November 8, the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) had restored power to 1,129,912 customers, reaching 68.1% of the total 1,658,933 customers who lost power due to the impact of storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi).

EVNCPC mobilized maximum forces to urgently restore power after storm No. 13.

This is the result of the tireless efforts of thousands of electricity workers and officials, who are working day and night to urgently fix problems and restore the power system after a strong storm caused heavy damage in the Central and Central Highlands regions.

Currently, there are still 529,021 customers (accounting for 10.7% of the total number of EVNCPC customers) without electricity, mainly in the three heavily affected localities of Gia Lai, Dak Lak and Quang Ngai. EVNCPC is mobilizing maximum forces, means and necessary materials, closely coordinating with local authorities to speed up the restoration progress, striving to soon bring electricity back to serve people's lives and production.

On the 110 kV grid, units have restored 26/30 incidents and removed lines; 100% of 110 kV transformer stations have been put back into operation, ensuring the main power supply for the regional power system. On the medium voltage grid, the entire EVNCPC has handled 266/465 incidents (57.2% rate), restored 13,508/19,682 distribution transformer stations (68.6%), with a total unrestored capacity of about 330.7 MW, equivalent to 8.7% of the system's maximum load capacity.

Among the affected units, Gia Lai Electricity Company has restored 68/205 incidents; currently 388,605 customers and 4,513 distribution transformer stations are still without electricity, with an estimated loss of 269.1 MW. Dak Lak Electricity Company has restored 61/113 incidents, with 138,539 customers and 1,621 transformer stations still without electricity, with an estimated loss of 58.6 MW. Quang Ngai Electricity Company has restored 69/79 incidents, with only 1,877 customers and 40 distribution transformer stations still without electricity.

Although the post-storm weather is still complicated and many traffic areas are still cut off, EVNCPC forces are still working continuously day and night, determined to restore the entire power system as soon as possible, ensuring stability in people's lives and serving socio- economic development after the storm.
