Previously, due to the impact of storm No. 13, a serious incident occurred on the Truong Son Dong route through Gia Lai province at Dak Po To bridge Km378+130. Floodwaters rose, sweeping away the entire road section at the bridgehead near pier M1 with a length of about 25 m and an estimated depth of about 8 m, completely cutting off traffic through this area.

Immediately after receiving the information, Road Management Area III promptly deployed forces and vehicles to the scene. Both ends of the bridge were barricaded, with guards on duty 24/7 to ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles. At the same time, the unit urgently mobilized materials including steel cages and boulders to repair the damage and reinforce the roadbed and bridge abutments.
According to the plan, if the weather conditions are favorable, the repair work will be completed and the temporary reopening of the road is expected to take place on the afternoon of November 7. However, due to unfavorable weather conditions, the reopening has been postponed.
Road Management Area III has proactively informed the Department of Construction of Gia Lai province and local authorities about the damage and traffic congestion at Dak Po To bridge. The parties have coordinated to organize traffic flow, guide people and vehicles to move safely, and at the same time directed the on-site response force to support people when necessary.
The temporary traffic diversion plan is implemented as follows: Vehicles traveling on the Truong Son Dong route to Km321 turn right and follow National Highway 19 to Km139, then turn left along DT 666 route (about 60 km) to rejoin the Truong Son Dong route at Km378+500; vehicles traveling in the opposite direction follow the same diversion.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Director of Road Management Area III, said that the unit is mobilizing maximum human resources and equipment to speed up the repair progress, prioritizing ensuring the safety of the project and opening traffic as soon as possible. At the same time, the work of checking the current status of bridges, roadbeds, drainage and neighboring vulnerable locations is also being strengthened to promptly detect the risk of landslides and subsidence that may occur due to the effects of prolonged heavy rain.
The timely traffic diversion, warning and remediation by Road Management Area III contributes to minimizing risks, ensuring traffic safety and maintaining smooth traffic connections on the Truong Son Dong route - an important artery of the Central Highlands region.
