eTax Mobile application in tax field: Win-win situation

Tax officials guide people to install the application at the conference.

Taxes can be paid anywhere

On the morning of May 7, more than 700 taxpayers in Vung Tau City were present at the Vung Tau - Con Dao Inter-District Tax Team's conference hall to participate in the program to support the installation and instruction on how to use the eTax Mobile application. This is the second consecutive day that the Tax Team has organized this conference with the goal of directly reaching people, helping them understand and master the application. Up to now, the program has successfully supported nearly 1,000 taxpayers to install and use the application.

Sharing at the training session, Ms. Trang, a sole proprietorship in Thang Nhi Ward, said: “Every time I pay taxes, I have to go directly to the tax office, wasting time traveling and waiting. I found it very convenient after being guided by the tax officer to install eTax Mobile. If I use it successfully, I can pay taxes right at home, saving time and effort.”

A tax officer who directly guided people at the conference said: “The eTax Mobile application is designed to provide maximum support to individual taxpayers and business households in looking up records, checking tax liability information and paying taxes. With a smartphone with internet connection, people can complete tax procedures quickly, anytime, anywhere.”

According to information from the tax industry, from March 2022, the eTax Mobile application has officially operated. Since its implementation, there have been more than 3.4 million downloads and installations of eTax Mobile, the number of transactions via commercial banks is 5.7 million transactions with the amount of tax successfully paid to the state budget is more than 11 trillion VND.

In the first 3 months of 2025 alone, the number of downloads, installations and uses of the eTax Mobile application was more than 1.1 million, with transactions through commercial banks totaling VND 2,880 billion. These figures partly reflect the interest and positive response from people and businesses to this new tool.

How to install eTax Mobile application

To use the eTax Mobile application, users can easily download it through the CH Play application store (for Android operating system) or App Store (for iOS operating system). Then, you can choose 1 of the 2 following installation methods:

Method 1: Install directly on the app

Step 1: Open the application, select “Register now”, enter your personal tax code, Captcha code, then click “Continue”.

Step 2: Enter phone number, email address, continue to complete information.

Step 3: The system will send a message confirming successful registration along with the application access password.

Method 2: Install via electronic identification account (VNeID)

Step 1: Select “Login with electronic identification account”, enter VNeID account password, click “Login”.

Step 2: Fill in the required information, click “Continue”. The system will send account information and password to the phone number registered with the tax authority.

Promoting tax administrative procedure reform

In recent years, the tax sector has promoted the application of technology, modernized work processes to reform administration, and improve service efficiency for people and businesses. The eTax Mobile application is one of the strong changes in the digital transformation process of the tax sector.

Ms. Hoang Ngoc Phi, Head of the Vung Tau - Con Dao Inter-District Tax Team, said that the goal is that by June 10, all 7,305 individual business households paying taxes by the lump-sum method in the area will install and use the eTax Mobile application to pay taxes. To achieve this goal, the tax staff has actively organized direct instruction sessions at the unit, and at the same time strongly deployed propaganda activities via social networks to reach more people.

In addition to direct support activities, the tax industry is also researching and integrating new features on the eTax Mobile application such as notification of upcoming tax obligations, late payment warnings, transaction history lookup, etc. to increase convenience and enhance user experience.

The application of eTax Mobile helps people to fulfill their tax obligations more conveniently, contributing to promoting the national digital transformation process. When all tax transactions are carried out in an electronic environment, transparently and quickly, the efficiency of state management is significantly improved, while minimizing unnecessary costs for both taxpayers and management agencies.

In the coming time, the tax industry will continue to promote propaganda, improve applications and expand the scope of support so that everyone, wherever they are, can easily access and use eTax Mobile.
