Responding to storm No. 12: Students in Hue City and Da Nang will be off school from the afternoon of October 22

(Chinhphu.vn) - To proactively respond to storm No. 12, on the morning of October 22, the Department of Education and Training of Hue City issued a notice requesting all schools and educational institutions across the city to close from the afternoon of October 22 and October 23.

Students in Hue City and Da Nang City will be off school from the afternoon of October 22.

Implementing the direction of the leaders of Hue City People's Committee, to ensure the safety of teachers and students, limit the damage caused by storm No. 12 and storm circulation, the Department of Education and Training announced that all schools and educational institutions in Hue City will be closed from the afternoon of October 22 and October 23.

Regarding the implementation of storm and flood prevention work at schools and educational institutions, it is required to continue to implement according to Official Dispatch No. 4581/SGDĐT-VP dated October 21. Upon receiving this Official Dispatch, it is required that units seriously implement it.

On the morning of October 22, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang city sent an official dispatch to the People's Committees of wards, communes, special zones, and educational and training establishments in the city regarding students being off school due to storm No. 12.

To proactively respond to storm No. 12, the Department of Education and Training requests heads of units and schools in Da Nang city to urgently notify preschool children, students, and trainees across the city to have a day off this afternoon (October 22) and all day tomorrow, October 23. Educational institutions with boarding organizations decide the time (specific hours) and promptly notify parents to pick up their children (possibly after lunch); assign teachers and staff to manage and take care of preschool children and students when parents have not yet arrived to pick them up.

The Department of Education and Training requires ethnic boarding and semi-boarding schools to strengthen management and care for students; not allowing students to go home without ensuring safety conditions. Private universities and vocational training institutions, based on the actual situation, proactively decide on students' attendance.

Seriously implement the directives and instructions of the City People's Committee, Department of Education and Training and local authorities on disaster prevention.

In addition, the Department of Education and Training directed the suspension of preschool children, students, and trainees from school due to heavy rain before and after the storm causing flooding and landslides in localities in accordance with Official Dispatch No. 1788/SGDĐT-VP dated October 21, 2025 of the Department of Education and Training on proactively responding to storm No. 12.
