Uong Bi: Preserving and promoting cultural heritage values

Cultural heritage is identified as an invaluable endogenous resource for the economic growth of the country and each locality. Over the years, Uong Bi City has made efforts to preserve, conserve and promote the value of heritage, using heritage as a space for development.

With support funds from the state budget and socialized sources, Uong Bi has restored and prevented degradation of most historical relics in the area; collected, preserved and promoted the value of treasures, antiques and ancient relics; called for and attracted businesses to invest in building infrastructure in the relic site; researched the planning to preserve, restore and upgrade the architecture and landscape of a number of villages with unique traditional national cultural identities to become "living museums"; researched the effective application of policies and mechanisms of superiors to support and encourage the activities and development of folk art and cultural clubs in the community.

Keeping up with the digitalization trend in relics, Uong Bi is interested in enhancing the application of digital transformation with big data technology, artificial intelligence, virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR) in the work of preserving, preserving, embellishing and promoting the value of cultural heritages; continuing to perfect the database, comprehensively digitizing cultural spaces, relics and artifacts at historical relics...

In order to promote Yen Tu Heritage, in addition to regularly promoting and introducing the image of Yen Tu on prestigious media channels inside and outside the province, at home and abroad, Uong Bi city has also built a separate website about Yen Tu relic site, providing full information to serve the needs of tourists to look up and learn; implementing the Project "Application of information technology in management and promotion of Yen Tu relic site", implementing 3D digitization of cultural spaces, relics and artifacts in Yen Tu, helping tourists to easily learn about cultural spaces and artifacts in a virtual environment before coming to Yen Tu relic site...

In recent years, the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage values of Uong Bi associated with the implementation of Resolution 17 of the Provincial Party Committee, Uong Bi City Party Committee has been concretized with local conditions to issue plans and action programs to implement very comprehensively and synchronously the culture and people of Uong Bi with general goals, 18 specific targets, 5 groups of tasks and solutions. In which, specific targets and solutions have been stated to preserve, restore and promote the values of cultural heritages in Uong Bi, architectural works, landscapes with traditional and unique cultural identities.

Up to this point, the nomination of Yen Tu Historical Relic and Landscape Complex as a World Heritage Site is a testament to Uong Bi's efforts in preserving and maintaining a priceless cultural heritage of humanity. Uong Bi City is proactively preparing the necessary conditions to implement the management plan of Yen Tu Historical Relic and Landscape Complex immediately after the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac Relic and Landscape Complex was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. These are the bases for Uong Bi to aim at professionalizing cultural and spiritual tourism activities, associated with serving tourists visiting and researching cultural heritages in the area, contributing to protecting, preserving and promoting the value of heritages in the city.
