On July 15, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ben Tre province held a press conference to inform about the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ben Tre province, term 2024-2029.

This is an important political event for the Vietnam Fatherland Front and all classes of people in the province. It continues to affirm the position, role and noble mission of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the cause of building the great national unity bloc. According to the organizing committee, the Congress took place over 2 days (August 1 and 2) with the participation of 480 delegates. Of which, 320 were official delegates and 160 were invited delegates. The theme of the Congress was Solidarity - Democracy - Consensus - Breakthrough - Development.

According to the organizing committee, the Congress determined that in the 2024 - 2029 term, it is necessary to focus on 3 breakthroughs: Improving the quality of social supervision and criticism activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations. Innovating and improving the quality and effectiveness of the work of grasping public opinion and the people's situation, collecting and synthesizing opinions and recommendations of voters and people; closely and promptly reflecting opinions and recommendations and supervising the settlement of opinions and recommendations of voters and people.

Second, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the province presides over and coordinates the mobilization of resources to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in poor and near-poor households in the province, and to implement social security well, actively contributing to ensuring people's security. Finally, it is to build a model of a prestigious and exemplary Vietnam Fatherland Front cadre in Ben Tre province who has done a good job of mobilizing the masses, building a strong national Great Unity bloc with the criteria of "Dedication - Responsibility - Discipline - Dynamism". Building a strong and comprehensive Front Work Committee for hamlets and neighborhoods.

In addition, the Congress also identified 7 main targets: first, each year each commune, ward and town has 01 effective propaganda model. Proactively and actively mobilize people to agree to participate in implementing key projects and works in the locality; OCOP products, start-up projects, innovation, creativity, digital transformation.

Second, every year, 100% of hamlets and neighborhoods organize the National Great Unity Day; encourage the organization of community-building activities (Coconut Village Festival; Coconut Cultural Festival, ...), focusing on innovating the content and form of organizing the Festival. Next, the criteria also include annually mobilizing and donating resources to support the "For the Poor" Fund of at least 30 billion (province 20 billion, district and grassroots 10 billion), and doing a good job of social security. Mobilizing resources to strive to eliminate temporary houses for families with difficult policies in 2024; Great Unity houses for poor and near-poor households in the province in 2025, striving to support the construction of at least 2,500 new Great Unity houses by the end of the term, ...

In addition, according to the organizing committee, the number of members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, term X (equal to term IX, term 2019-2024): 95 members; Standing Committee: 9 members (including: Chairman, 3 Vice Chairmen, 5 Standing Committee members); this term, the structure of non-professional Vice Chairmen: 1 member.
