HCM City artists contribute ideas to the Party Congress political report

On August 15, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a conference to collect opinions from the city's artists and writers on the draft political report of the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

The conference was attended by Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi; Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong; and many representatives of literary, music , theater, photography, and cinema associations...

Writer Bich Ngan - President of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association - affirmed that literature and art have made great contributions to the city's development, and at the same time recommended that works should be systematically archived and promoted for integration. "Literary and artistic activities must be professional, and strive to be professional," she emphasized.

Writer Tram Huong - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association - hopes that literature and art will have "high-tech products" to "export" abroad, and at the same time digitize works to reach millions of readers.

Concerned about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI), Mr. Tran Quoc Dung - Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association - said that photos created by AI are increasingly sophisticated, easily losing authenticity and historical value, thereby suggesting that the city have a policy of strong investment in literature and art to reduce dependence on technology.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and investment in studying political reports of artists and writers, who contributed to nurturing the soul and cultural identity of Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Nghi emphasized that in the context of the requirement to innovate the work of building congress documents in a concise, general but complete direction, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee will proactively listen to similar conferences.

Also according to the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, over the past 50 years, Ho Chi Minh City has always been a major cultural center of the country, a place where the diversity and uniqueness of national culture and the quintessence of world culture converge.

Despite many difficulties, the city still considers cultural and human development as the foundation and driving force; puts economic and political development on par with cultural and social development.
