The official fanpage account of FIFA World Cup has just posted a status to pay tribute to Van Quyet: "Class is forever", along with impressive images of the striker born in 1991 in the colors of the Vietnam National Team.

Not only FIFA, but also the ASEAN Football fanpage honored Van Quyet. Many Southeast Asian fans were surprised and expressed their respect for the decision of the Hanoi FC player.

For his part, Van Quyet shared: "I regret not being able to win against India. The Vietnamese team did not play well. I was substituted in the last minutes so I tried my best. No matter how long I played, I played to my best ability, but there were mistakes when playing with young players and a new tactical system.

I am an experienced person, I really want to score when I return to the national team but I am also willing to create conditions for my teammates. I want to participate in more big tournaments with spirit and determination. But now my physical condition is not good, I cannot meet the requirements."

Van Quyet also said he was surprised to be called up for this training session and to play in front of fans. He sent his best wishes to the Vietnamese team and the fans: "I hope the Vietnamese team plays well and the young players integrate soon. I will always accompany them in any position. Over the past 18 years, I have always tried my best and I hope that Vietnamese football will develop and the national team will grow stronger."

Van Quyet played 60 matches for the Vietnam national team and scored 16 goals. He scored his first goal for the team in the match against Macau on June 29, 2011 in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

The striker from Thach That (Hanoi) participated in 5 AFF Cups (2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2022), with the AFF Cup 2018 championship. In addition, Van Quyet also joined the Vietnam Olympic team to reach the semi-finals of Asiad 2018.
