Praise from VFF for the U.17 Vietnam warriors
On the evening of November 30, VFF said: "After the 4-0 victory of U.17 Vietnam over U.17 Malaysia in the "final" match of Group C, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Tran Quoc Tuan, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the VFF Executive Committee, sent congratulations to the entire team on their achievement of qualifying for the 2026 AFC U.17 finals as group winners.
President Tran Quoc Tuan highly appreciated the efforts and careful preparation of the Vietnam U17 team. The team won all 4 matches in the qualifying round, scoring a total of 30 goals and not conceding any. This is considered the result of continuous investment in youth training, implemented by VFF right after the 2025 AFC U17 Championship finals.
Beating Malaysia, U.17 Vietnam won the ticket to Asia: Winning all, keeping a clean sheet
VFF informed: "In order to encourage the team's spirit, VFF decided to reward the team with 600 million VND after winning the ticket to the next round. VFF also posted a congratulatory post, encouraging the team's spirit to aim for bigger goals, first of all, the Asian Finals next year.
At this tournament, U.17 Vietnam received many compliments from fans thanks to their beautiful coordination, cohesion and the outstanding performance of many promising individuals. This success is considered a meaningful gift for fans, at the same time creating a solid foundation for further goals in the future."
Player Van Duong said after the match: "My teammates and I are very happy to have won an important victory. The ticket to the U.17 Asia is a worthy result of the team's careful preparation and especially in response to the investment and care of the VFF. I am very happy that I contributed a goal in the match against U.17 Malaysia. I would like to thank the fans for always accompanying us."
Van Duong was the home team’s most impressive player in the match against Malaysia when he had 2 assists and scored 1 goal. Unfortunately, in the second half, he had to leave the field due to injury.

Today's victory puts the U.17 team on the list of Vietnamese teams that have qualified for the 2026 Asian finals, alongside the national women's team, the men's U.23 team, the national men's futsal team, the national women's U.20 team and the national women's U.17 team.
When and where will the 2026 AFC U-17 Championship take place?
The 2026 AFC U-17 Championship qualifiers will feature 38 teams, divided into 7 groups (3 groups of 6 teams, 4 groups of 5 teams). The top team in each group will advance to the finals. In addition, 9 teams will be automatically qualified for the finals, including host Qatar and 8 teams that have reached the quarter-finals of the 2025 AFC U-17 Championship: Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, North Korea, Tajikistan, Japan, UAE and Indonesia.
According to the schedule, the AFC U17 Championship will take place in Saudi Arabia in May 2026. The 8 teams with the best results in the Championship will represent Asia at the 2026 AFC U17 World Cup.
