At the age of 29, with a stable job and a pretty appearance, Ms. Le Thi Thuy Anh (Can Duoc town, Can Duoc district, Long An province) is not ready to enter a love relationship. "My parents have repeatedly urged me to bring my lover home to meet their family, but right now, I just want to focus on working and developing myself to be able to advance in my career rather than falling in love and getting married. I feel that I am not mature enough, and my finances are not stable enough to be a wife and a mother," Ms. Thuy Anh said.
Pham Hung (An Luc Long commune, Chau Thanh district) shared: “I still have many plans to do so I don’t want to get married in the next few years. In my opinion, when I get married, there are many things to worry about, when I have children, I also need to have the conditions to take care of them properly. Currently, I only work enough to take care of myself and help my parents a little. If I had to take care of my own family, it would be too much pressure to bear. Being single, I can freely pursue my passion and put all my effort into my work.”
The trend of getting married late, being afraid of love, being lazy to love like Ms. Thuy Anh or Mr. Pham Hung is not rare among young people today. Instead of wishing to find a soul mate, enjoying happy moments with their lover, many young people are afraid of being bound by the two words "marriage", "family", "children". They can date, fall in love but are afraid of getting married .

The traditional concept of marriage “A smart man gets married, a grown-up woman gets married” is shaken and difficult to maintain its value. According to many young people, getting married late or choosing to stay single can open up more job opportunities as well as more time to improve themselves, becoming the most complete version of themselves without having to worry about any binding relationships. This helps them feel more comfortable and not regret missing out on their youth.
