In 2023, the international journalism and communication majors of the Academy of Journalism and Communication will have a benchmark score of 34.3-37.31 (on a 40-point scale); the multimedia and mass communication majors will have a benchmark score of 26.15 to 27.18 (on a 30-point scale), all of which are among the top majors with the highest benchmark scores of the school.

Meanwhile, the journalism major of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City National University) also has the highest standard score among 34 majors in 2023 with 28 points (C00), 26.71 (D01) and 26.81 (D14), while multimedia communication ranked third with 27.2-27.25 points depending on the subject group.

At Van Lang University, Dr. Vo Van Tuan, Vice Principal, informed that in the recent high school transcript review, the multimedia communication major led in the number of applications, accounting for nearly 20% of the total 60 majors. Next was the public relations major. Second, these are fields with a wide range of income-generating jobs, including part-time jobs, especially self-employed jobs in the digital economic environment. Third, on the current enrollment map, candidates with strengths in non-technical fields but not inclined towards economics or business do not have many 'hot' career options, so they easily flock to journalism and communications, which is currently recognized as a 'hot' field."
