The 20th United Nations Day of Vesak, themed "Solidarity and Tolerance for Human Dignity: Buddhist Wisdom for World Peace and Sustainable Development", was hosted by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City, on the occasion of Vietnam's 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
2025 is the fourth time Vietnam has hosted this important event. The event brings together about 2,700 delegates, including about 1,200 international delegates from 85 countries and territories.
The 2025 Vesak Celebration received more than 1,000 presentations focusing on the theme: "Solidarity and Tolerance for Human Dignity: Buddhist Insight for World Peace and Sustainable Development".
