NDO - The national domain name “.vn” was born in 1994, marking an important first step in affirming Vietnam’s national sovereignty in cyberspace. Over the past three decades, this domain name has played an essential role in connecting the community and protecting national cyber sovereignty.

According to the Vietnam Internet Center, the number of “.vn” domain names has grown strongly over time.

On March 31, 2022, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh approved the national strategy for developing the digital economy and digital society to 2025, with a vision to 2030, in which the domain name “.vn” is identified as an important indicator.

To support businesses and people to quickly establish an online presence, the Ministry of Science and Technology has launched a program to support free registration of the domain names “biz.vn” and “id.vn”.
