On the afternoon of September 9, U23 Bangladesh faced U23 Singapore in the final match of Group C of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers at Viet Tri Stadium.

Despite being rated higher, U23 Bangladesh was unable to find the opponent's net in the first 70 minutes.

In the 70th minute, from a seemingly harmless situation, Fahamedul Islam fired a shot from outside the box and defeated goalkeeper Aizil Yazid. The goal of U23 Bangladesh not only broke the deadlock but also caused the spirit of U23 Singapore players to decline rapidly.

After opening the score, the U23 Bangladesh players confidently deployed their playing style and created an overwhelming situation against Singapore.
