According to the assessment of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, although it is the low season for international tourism, the positive results in July and August showed clear signs of recovery and growth in the international tourist market (inbound) to Vietnam.
Of the nearly 14 million international arrivals in the past 8 months, 11.9 million arrived by air, accounting for 85.2% and up 22.6% over the same period in 2024; by road reached 1.9 million, accounting for 13.4% and up 17.5%; by sea recorded 187.8 thousand arrivals, accounting for 1.4% and up 13.4%.

China is the largest market sending visitors with more than 3.5 million arrivals, accounting for 25.4%, while South Korea ranks second with over 2.9 million arrivals, accounting for 20.9%.

In the first 8 months of 2025, most European markets continued to grow strongly, including key markets such as: UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway.
Southeast Asian markets also grew well: Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand.
In particular, the number of visitors from the Russian market continues to grow very rapidly (164.9%). The remarkable growth of the Russian tourist market is the result of the tourism promotion and advertising program in Russia by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, localities and businesses in recent times.
In addition, the Indian market continues to affirm its great potential and maintain stable growth. In September 2025, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism organized a tourism promotion program in the two cities of Bengaluru and Hyderabad to enhance the presence of Vietnamese tourism in this market, creating conditions for businesses of both sides to connect, expand cooperation and promote bilateral tourist exchanges.
According to Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Pham Van Thuy, India is a country with a long history, the origin of many major religions such as Buddhism and possesses many unique cultural heritages.
India is not only a comprehensive strategic partner of Vietnam but also a great friend, having extensive cooperation with Vietnam in many fields, including tourism.
In the context of increasingly developing Vietnam-India relations, tourism is becoming an effective bridge, contributing to strengthening the bond between the people of the two countries.
In 2024, Vietnam welcomed 501,427 Indian visitors, nearly three times higher than in 2019. In the first 7 months of 2025 alone, more than 387,000 Indian visitors came to Vietnam, an increase of 42.5% over the same period last year.
India is also among the top 10 markets with the largest number of international searches for Vietnam tourism from 2022 to present.
According to Deputy Director Pham Van Thuy, in order to create more favorable conditions for Indian tourists, Vietnam has implemented a quick procedure for issuing electronic visas (e-visas), with a stay of up to 90 days, allowing single or multiple entries.
At the same time, the aviation network connecting directly between major cities of the two countries is increasingly expanding, while the safe, friendly tourism environment and hospitable Vietnamese people are contributing to bringing memorable experiences to international visitors./.
