Vietnam always attaches importance to cooperation with Chinese localities.

During his visit to Yunnan Province, China, to attend the Opening Ceremony of the 7th China-South Asia Expo and the 27th Kunming Import and Export Fair, on the afternoon of August 15, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang received Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee Wang Ning.

Positively assessing the new developments in cooperation between Vietnamese localities and Yunnan province in recent times, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang affirmed Vietnam's consistent policy in strengthening friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive cooperation with China.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the Vietnamese Government always attaches importance to and is ready to support and create conditions to strengthen friendly cooperation between localities of the two countries, including border localities of Vietnam with Yunnan province.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang suggested that Yunnan province closely coordinate with Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities to concretize the common perception of the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and two countries, especially the high-level common perception between General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping in October 2022; effectively implement existing cooperation mechanisms and frameworks; strive to increase trade turnover between Vietnamese localities and Yunnan to 5 billion USD in the next few years; strengthen connectivity of railway and road transport infrastructure; promote tourism cooperation, exchange and share experiences in poverty reduction and sustainable development.

The Deputy Prime Minister also hopes that the two sides will closely coordinate in border management and protection according to the three documents on land borders and related agreements, and continue to build a peaceful and stable border so that people of the two countries can settle down and make a living.

Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee Wang Ning welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and the Vietnamese Government delegation to the 7th China-South Asia Expo and the 27th Kunming Import and Export Fair; affirmed that Yunnan attaches importance to friendly cooperation with Vietnamese localities; is ready to work with Vietnamese localities to well implement the common perception of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, as well as the common perception between Yunnan province and Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities when Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Wang Ning visits Vietnam in March 2023.

Provincial Party Secretary Wang Ning affirmed that together with Vietnamese localities, we will strengthen delegation exchanges at all levels, effectively promote the role of cooperation mechanisms, deepen economic and trade cooperation, enhance infrastructure connectivity cooperation; closely cooperate in areas such as personnel training, poverty reduction, environmental protection, sustainable development; promote cooperation in the fields of health, culture, education, and tourism, contributing to consolidating the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam.
