The strong growth in processed fruit and vegetable exports comes from businesses boldly investing in modern production lines, expanding specialized growing areas and improving the quality of raw materials, meeting increasingly high standards from the international market.
According to the Fruit and Vegetable Processing Industry Development Project for the 2021-2030 period, Vietnam aims to achieve fruit and vegetable export turnover of 8-10 billion USD by 2030, of which processed products account for over 30% of the total value. Processing capacity is expected to reach 2 million tons of products/year, nearly 2 times higher than in 2020.
The project also aims to attract 50-60 large and medium-sized processing facilities, and at the same time build modern fruit and vegetable processing corporations with international competitiveness and regional status.
