Reopening this route not only strengthens Vietnam Airlines' position on international routes but also realizes the strategy of expanding its flight network and improving the airline's operational efficiency.

In the initial phase, Vietnam Airlines will operate the route with a frequency of 2 flights/week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, using wide-body Boeing 787 aircraft. From July 2026, it will increase to 3 flights/week to meet the increasing travel needs of passengers.

On the occasion of its opening, Vietnam Airlines is offering many attractive promotions, including round-trip tickets from Hanoi to Moscow starting from only VND16,419,000 (including taxes and fees). In addition, customers will receive a 50% discount on the first prepaid baggage item and a 30% discount on pre-selected seats.

Golden Lotus members who purchase tickets and depart between May 8, 2025 and June 30, 2025 will receive special bonus miles, with 1,000 bonus miles and 1,000 qualifying miles/segment for Economy class, and 2,000 bonus miles and 2,000 qualifying miles/segment for Business class.

The above programs apply to tickets issued from March 15, 2025 to May 31, 2025 and flying during the period May 8, 2025 to May 31, 2025. Passengers can book tickets via the website, mobile application, ticket offices and official agents of Vietnam Airlines.

Russia has always been one of the key markets for Vietnam's tourism and trade. In 2024, the total number of visitors between the two countries will reach more than 220,000, an increase of more than 2.3 times compared to 2023, but still only 26% compared to 2019. The direct flight from Hanoi to Moscow will not only help strengthen connectivity but also facilitate a strong recovery of the aviation and tourism industries of the two countries.

The resumption of flights not only provides passengers with more convenient and safe travel options with high-quality services, but also promotes bilateral cooperation between the two countries in many areas such as trade, investment and cultural exchange.

This event also marks an important milestone in Vietnam Airlines' international flight network development strategy, especially on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Airlines Corporation.

It is expected that in 2025, Vietnam Airlines will open and restore 15 new international routes to important destinations such as Italy, Russia, Denmark, China, India, Japan, South Korea, UAE...

With a commitment to continuous innovation and expansion, Vietnam Airlines is gradually affirming its pioneering role in connecting Vietnam with the world and bringing the country deeper and deeper into the global economy.
