On April 14 in Binh Lieu district, Quang Ninh, Vinamilk and the Vietnam Children's Fund officially launched the Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund in 2023, the 16th year of this program. Up to now, after 16 years of persistent implementation, the Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund has donated more than 42 million boxes of nutritious milk and sent love to more than 500,000 children across Vietnam with a total support value of up to 200 billion VND.
The province has 22 ethnic groups.
Representing the donation of 1.5 million glasses of milk to the Vietnam Children's Fund, Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vinamilk Company said: "The Vietnam Rising Milk Fund is a community program that Vinamilk has been passionately implementing for the past 16 years. Even during difficult times or the years of the COVID-19 pandemic, this program is still prioritized by the company and received the attention and support of many leaders of the Party, State, localities, artists and the community. That is also the most meaningful thing about this program, when the message of love and care for children has always been the effort and perseverance of all of us."

In Quang Ninh province alone, this is the 13th year that disadvantaged children in the province have benefited from the program, with an estimated total of 600,000 boxes of milk supported over the years. Quang Ninh is a mountainous, midland province located in the coastal region, with more than 80% of the land being hills and mountains. There are 22 ethnic groups living together here, of which the most are the Dao, Tay, San Diu, San Chay, Hoa, Muong... concentrated mainly in mountainous districts, especially Binh Lieu district with 95.8% being ethnic minorities.
Although the economic growth rate is quite high compared to the national average, due to the specific terrain and population, the mountainous provinces of the province still face many difficulties, so the conditions for nutritional care and health care for children still need attention and support.
Vietnam Children's Fund awards 100 scholarships to students in difficult circumstances
Therefore, the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund has decided to choose Binh Lieu district, Quang Ninh as the place to hold the first milk donation ceremony in 2023 of the program. At the ceremony, nearly 400 students at Huc Dong Primary School representing 1,600 disadvantaged children in Quang Ninh received 150,000 boxes of nutritious Vinamilk ADM milk with a total value of about 1 billion VND. This is a nutritious milk line supplemented with DHA and 17 vitamins and minerals to support children in developing their brains, height and enhancing their resistance with the hope that they will have the opportunity to develop better both physically and mentally.
Practical contribution
After Quang Ninh, the milk fund will continue to donate milk to localities this year such as Lang Son, Thanh Hoa, Vinh Phuc, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Binh Duong... and 2 big cities: Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
Mr. Dinh Tien Hai, Director of the Vietnam Children's Fund, added: "The Vietnam Rising Milk Fund is a humane program for disadvantaged children and children in special circumstances that the Vietnam Children's Fund has implemented with Vinamilk since 2008. During 16 years of implementation, the milk fund has always received support, companionship, and assistance from all levels of leadership so that more and more children can drink milk every day. To achieve the results like today, the Vietnam Children's Fund's Sponsoring Council, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs also highly appreciate the practical contributions and companionship of Vinamilk in caring for special children and children in difficult circumstances across the country."
Vinamilk representative gives milk to students
On this occasion, the Vietnam Children's Fund under the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and delegates also presented 100 scholarships to 100 disadvantaged students who have overcome difficulties to study well in Binh Lieu district to encourage them to persevere and continue going to school.
During the milk giving event, the Milk Fund and Vinamilk also specially gave the children a true children's festival with many activities such as a game area with "ADM Cow", exchanging milk cartons for environmental protection gifts, exploring the dream garden and receiving nutritional check-ups by Vinamilk doctors.
Also in the program, Vinamilk and the Vietnam Children's Fund visited and presented milk to students at Vo Ngai Kindergarten in Binh Lieu district.
Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund is present in 63 provinces and cities.
The Vietnam Rising Milk Fund is the largest and most sustainable children's program to date. The predecessor was the "1 Million Glasses of Milk Fund" in 2008 with the goal of helping about 50,000 poor children nationwide have free milk to drink. In 2010, the program officially changed its name to "Vietnam Rising Milk Fund", with the mission of allowing all Vietnamese children to drink milk every day. For 16 consecutive years, the milk fund has reached children in all 63 provinces and cities across the country, from mountainous border provinces such as Ha Giang, Dien Bien... to Ca Mau or the islands of the Fatherland. With its humane meaning, the Milk Fund program has become a beautiful part of the memories of many generations of children, helping them have more determination to reach high to pursue their dreams.
