Vinh Linh: Body of female student suspected of drowning found in Ben Hai River

This afternoon, March 24, information from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PCCC and CNCH) of Quang Tri Provincial Police said that after nearly 30 hours of searching, the unit, together with local people, and volunteer rescue teams found the body of a female student suspected of drowning in Ben Hai River in Hien Thanh Commune, Vinh Linh District.

Earlier, on the morning of March 23, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department received a report of a suspected drowning at the Hien Luong Bridge over the Ben Hai River. Immediately afterwards, the Vinh Linh Fire Fighting and Rescue Team arrived at the scene, deploying forces and equipment to carry out search and rescue operations.

With the support of local people and volunteer search teams, the victim's body was found at around 12:45 noon today, March 24.

Initial information shows that the victim is NTV (born in 2013), residing in Ho Xa town, Vinh Linh district. Earlier, in the early morning of March 23, local people discovered a pair of women's sandals and an electric motorbike left on the side of the bridge near Hien Luong bridge, so they reported it to the authorities.

The victim's body has been brought ashore and handed over to his family for funeral arrangements.
