Vinh Long implements program to register to use national domain name '.vn'

On May 9, the Department of Science and Technology of Vinh Long in collaboration with Cuu Long University and the Vietnam Internet Center, Ho Chi Minh City branch (VNNIC) held a launching ceremony for a program to promote and support people, businesses, and business households to have an online presence, trust, and safety with services using the national domain name ".vn" in the province by 2025.

Ms. Doan Hong Hanh, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Vinh Long, said that in the context of digital transformation taking place strongly nationwide, the development and use of the national domain name ".vn" is one of the important factors, to affirm national digital sovereignty, promote Vietnamese brands on the internet environment. At the same time, it contributes to improving the competitiveness of people, businesses, and business households in the digital age.

The Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Vinh Long province identified that students are dynamic and creative. Therefore, she hopes that students will be "extended arms" to help the province connect and guide people to effectively implement the domain name registration program; guide businesses and cooperatives to participate in the program, create value from the use of the ".vn" domain name, contributing to the development of businesses and cooperatives.

At the ceremony, delegates listened to VNNIC representatives introduce digital services using the national domain name ".vn" and preferential policies for students. Participants are business households or newly established enterprises under 1 year old, Vietnamese citizens from 18 to 23 years old. With special promotion and support policies, the program supports individuals, business households, and newly established enterprises to build a safe, professional and trustworthy online environment through registering and using the domain name ".vn" with digital services (website, email ...); benefits of websites using the domain name ".vn".

The national domain name ".vn" associated with digital services (website/email...) is a means to bring people and businesses to have a safe and reliable online presence on the internet. Vinh Long province identifies digital transformation as a key, continuous task, closely linked to sustainable socio-economic development. The implementation of the program to promote and support people, businesses, and business households to use the national domain name ".vn" is an activity to achieve that goal.
