On the afternoon of November 5, a waterspout appeared off the coast of Phuoc Hoi ward, Lam Dong province, surprising many fishermen. Earlier, at around 4:30 p.m. the same day, people at La Gi fishing port (Phuoc Hoi ward) discovered a whirlpool tens of meters high forming in the sea, about two nautical miles from shore. This is the second time in a week that this rare phenomenon has occurred in Phuoc Hoi ward. Previously, on the afternoon of October 30, residents in the coastal area of Phuoc Hoi ward also witnessed the appearance of a waterspout that lasted for more than 10 minutes. At around 10pm on October 28, a tornado several dozen meters high appeared in Thanh Tung commune, Ca Mau province. After about 10 minutes, the tornado disappeared.
