VPF hires foreign FIFA referees to officiate the V-League 'reverse final'

TPO - The LPBank V-League 2024/25 Organizing Committee will hire a Thai referee to officiate the match between Quy Nhon Binh Dinh and SHB Da Nang in round 22 at Tam Ky Stadium on May 10.

Specifically, the main referee for the match between Quy Nhon Binh Dinh and SHB Da Nang will be Thai FIFA referee Wiwat Jumpaoon. Mr. Jumpaoon previously officiated the match between Binh Dinh and Hanoi FC in the 2023/24 season.

After round 21, SHB Da Nang is at the bottom of the rankings with 14 points. Quy Nhon Binh Dinh is above with 19 points but has played 1 less match. The confrontation between the two teams is decisive in the relegation race.

SHB Da Nang has great determination after returning to V-League last season. However, the team named after Mr. Hien has not achieved the good performance as expected. After 21 matches, they have only won 2, drawn 8 and lost 11 matches. If they lose to Binh Dinh, coach Nguyen Duc Tuan's team will have almost no chance of staying in the league.

When Vietnamese referees make mistakes, they will be under a lot of pressure from coaches and teams.

Another match in round 22 also officiated by a foreign referee was the match between Nam Dinh and Dong A Thanh Hoa, taking place at Thien Truong Stadium. On the contrary, Nam Dinh is firmly in the top position and has many advantages in the championship race after defeating Hanoi FC 3-0 in round 21 at Hang Day.

This match will be officiated by two Malaysian FIFA referees, Tuan Mohd Yaasin and Muhamad Izzul. In the final rounds, VPF, in addition to applying VAR technology, will also hire foreign referees to reduce pressure on Vietnamese referees.
